No more than I do not like people pulling yard signs off of private property because they do not agree.
No more than I dislike teachers and junior/senior high school students standing on my street corner waving “VOTE NO on Prop 8â€￾ signs.
On one hand people tell me to keep out of their bedroom and on the other drag me into their personal decisions.
This knife cuts both ways but you will never see it.

As if a liberal candidates sign has never been yanked out? WGAS?

What's wrong with people on a corner advocating a belief? Advocates and proponents do that all the time. As I understand it, that is a protected right. I believe it is called free speech.

Who is dragging you into what decision?

Why do you need/want USC protection of marriage?

Here's what the original 'W' had to say about God,Government and the People:

"WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houfes of Congress have, by their joint committee, requefted me 'to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to eftablifh a form of government for their safety and happiness':

"NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and affign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of thefe States to the fervice of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our fincere and humble thanksfor His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the fignal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpofitions of His providence in the courfe and conclufion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have fince enjoyed;-- for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to eftablish Conftitutions of government for our fafety and happinefs, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;-- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are bleffed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffufing useful knowledge;-- and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleafed to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in moft humbly offering our prayers and fupplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and befeech Him to pardon our national and other tranfgreffions;-- to enable us all, whether in publick or private ftations, to perform our feveral and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a bleffing to all the people by conftantly being a Government of wife, juft, and conftitutional laws, difcreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all fovereigns and nations (especially fuch as have shewn kindnefs unto us); and to blefs them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increafe of fcience among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind fuch a degree of temporal profperity as he alone knows to be beft.

"GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand feven hundred and eighty-nine."

I took the liberty to put your questions in a topical manner. I highlighted your questions in bold so as not to further confuse and obfuscate my reply.

1) As if a liberal candidates sign has never been yanked out? WGAS?

2) What's wrong with people on a corner advocating a belief? Advocates and proponents do that all the time. As I understand it, that is a protected right. I believe it is called free speech.

3) Who is dragging you into what decision?

4) Why do you need/want USC protection of marriage?

1) You do condone destruction of private property. Or only when it fits your agenda? Guess I am foolish to believe in the rights of others, even if I think they are thugs. You advocate ‘free speech’ yet have no compulsion in denying mine. Because it does not fit your ‘liberal’ agenda.

2) Apparently, you are not very adept in your understanding of the issue and the GBLT lies that it entails. Here is a link for you from the California Voter Guide. Read it and get back to me.

3) The GLBT movement is very active in the SF Bay Area. I hear and read this crap on a daily basis. Unlike you, I read their crap and see through it. They offer a negative value to society and take pride in degenerative lust and lack of self control. On their websites, their pictures of their ‘pride events’ do not have the pictures of the decadent and deviant behavior that is ‘soooooo’ part of the event. Did you ‘ever’ watch one of these ‘pride parades’? I did, and I am still washing out my eyes in disbelief of what a degenerative group of ‘supposedly’ human beings can do.

4) My need or want is immaterial. Why is it the need of the GBLT to become ‘married’ when all other laws of ‘domestic partnerships’ have equal rights under the ‘law’ today! The ‘issue’ is not equal rights, but ‘exclusive rights’. To be seen as ‘normal’ to justify their deviant behavior.

But you know, I pray for you and your family that you may see past the lies, deceptions and half truths that the GLBT has given you.

GOD BLESS!

1. WTF are you talking about? When did I ever condone the destruction of personal property? When did I ever condone the restriction of free speech? I am an advocate of free speech for all, including those I despise such as the KKK, skin heads and who ever else wants to say something. Point out one time where I advocated other wise.

2. Read it and still against it.

3. Then change the channel and don't watch it. I don't watch skin head parades. Whether you or I like or dislike something has no bearing on the law.

4. the laws and rights are not equal. I got married and my wife sent in her paper work to change her and and that was it. Two of my gay friends got married and they had to ge before a judge, plead their case. They had to spend several hundred dollars to have paper work processed and the list goes on. Separate is not equal. It is against the law. The USC does not forbid deviant behavior.

As I have said before, at some point this country will grant equal rights to homosexuals. Just as this country finally realized that women are equal to men and just as this country realized that blacks are equal to whites, so too will this nation realize that gays are equal to heteros. Your kind of bigoted, myopic hateful beliefs will pass into history only to be believed in small pockets of backwards society.

Save your prayer for someone else. Either you have no clue what your god teaches or if you do your god is a vile, hateful entity just as it's disciples. My guess is the former as I do not believe any advanced being could be filled with as much venom, hatred and bigotry as you.

I hope for your sake UAL isn't a UC Angel here on recon.

I wasnt going to get into this because, as you say, it isnt really any of your business, but I cant sit by and listen to the hate anymore from people who know not of what they speak.
First off, I've never been to a 'pride event' and have no need or interest in going. There are many, many gay people who would fit into this category.
Secondly, please explain to me how my BF of 4 1/2 years and I offer a negative value to society? We both have jobs, pay our taxes, keep our house and yard up and pretty much keep to ourselves. If we were to "get married" how would that affect your marriage or anyone elses? If the far right is so hell bent on "marriage protection" then perhaps you all need to get together and force your represenatives to construct and pass an "ANTI DIVORCE" law. That would be the only way I can think of to truly "protect marriage". I want to be able to live my life with the one I love and have the same legal protections that heteros have. We've been together longer and benefitted society more than a lot of hetero couples I know. But I guess as long as Brittney picks a guy to marry she can have as many 48 hour marriages as she likes, right?

And regarding your over simplified version of what exactly happens at ALL/ONLY? Pride events, you've obviously never watched an episode of Cops filmed during Mardi Gras. Or Girls/Guys Gone Wild on Spring Break. :blink:

Hey Cos......

Conservatives won a few battles yesterday if you noticed:

LOS ANGELES (AP) - In an election otherwise full of liberal triumphs, the gay rights movement suffered a stunning defeat as California voters approved a ban on same-sex marriages that overrides a recent court decision legalizing them. Gay-rights activists had a rough election elsewhere as well. Ban-gay-marriage amendments were approved in Arizona and Florida, and Arkansas voters approved a measure banning unmarried couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents. Supporters made clear that gays and lesbians were their main target.

Sure. It passed for now. The Jim Crow laws were around for a while as well but they came tumbling down. In 2000, the ban on equal rights for gays won by 61% to 34%. This year the ban on equal rights only won by 52% to 47%. Next time it comes up on the election it will probably loose that is assuming it does not get struck down by the CA Supreme court or the USC. Besides which there have already been 3 law suits filed against the proposition.

As I said before. Women got equal rights in 1920, blacks got equal rights in 1964 and eventually gays will get equal rights as well. Other countries have already done it and eventually the US will emerge out of the 15th century and join other enlightened countries who treat all their citizens equally. Enjoy the fact that you have succeeded in trampling the rights of others. It will not last long and be fearful of the day when someone decided that your rights should be limited because they do not agree with you.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

If one of us is denied equal treatment under the law, we are all lessened by it.

On a brighter note, MI and MA passed Marijuana laws. I always did like MA. Retirement up there is looking better and better.

I know people who do. That's all I'm saying without a lawyer present.
