Is it just me or does Tempe HQ & AFA66 have the most unprofessional, unorganized, undecided, and full of employees who were voted least likely to succeed?
What does it take to get a return phone call or an accurate answer to a question/concern?????????
I am just curious what others have experienced with HQ and AFA66?

Well we definately know they can't write press releases or hire interior designers for public areas of airports. The rest I'm not sure of.

Just speaking specifically abouT AFA66, this is the WEAKEST UNION OFFICE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. NO WONDER WEST DOESNT HAVE A CONTRACT...i assume they do AS told by company HQ, actually I know they do.....

West does have a CBA, CBAs in the airline industry do not expire, they become amendable.

Don't confuse my lack of a response as agreement with your assertion.

Who the hell are you? The 2nd shift janitor on the PHL D concourse?

You do not know what you are talking about!

with a statement like that......you cant be a west fa, that is a fact jack...............
are you a West F/A? Do you know our history? AFA for East is only as powerful as it is because the contract is more than 8 years old. The West contract is a first contract. First contracts always have problems, you learn as you go.

By the way, US F/A's helped with the negotiations, looked at company proposals, and advised on improvements etc.

AWA F/A pay was only $12,600 the with the first attempt to get an election(1986 card drive). The second attempt the pay was at $14,400 and cross utilization helped dilute the voting block. The company obviously had all the money in the world to keep the voting process held up in court. Eventually the courts ruled that the company had interfered in the voting process and ordered a new election. Well that one passed, and they dragged their feet on and on. It's a long story, but we ended up with the current contract on a 2nd T/A in 1999.

I don't think you are being fair when you critisize West AFA leadership. They are very good at what they do, and have extracted a lot of money out of the company for contract violations.

West AFA has a lot to be proud of.
We have a great contract, and it is our FIRST contract.
The West NEVER took a paycut after 9/11, as our union officials took a precautionary stance of "NO WAY".
Our West officers are very involved in lobbying Congress for flight attendant issues, and are regularly on Capital Hill fighting for ALL flight attendants.
We are JUST FINE out here in Phoenix, with AFA 66.
Why do you find the need to say such mean things?

EXACTLY! 🙂

West F/A have a strong union. Our officers and volunteers work their asses in the office. I know because I have volunteered over there! I have seen them in action.

I think the last couple of posts must be jokes.........lets be real.....

I know Gary, MECP West, and he is very centered, intelligent, and is a great communicator.

If there is a choice (and there will be) I would take Gary over Mike (East MECP) any day.

Read the East MEC newsletter and get Mikes recap of events. He starts out appearing strong and then, just fizzles out.

Weak.
Hopefully, the MECs will bring in new blood.

You can start then by utilizing EAP and/or getting your chip off your shoulder.

(I went back and read all your posts about other union locals. Interesting reading. 'Nuff said.)
