What's new

The TWU must go!

So back on topic.......
What is up with the Amp drive?
What happened to the interest in AMFA?
Why does a card drive take so long? It seems that either a guy is going to sign or not and that cards could be signed and collected in a couple of weeks. I guess its the verification process?
Let's get the ball rolling !!!!!!!!!!!

Dude....I hear guys still saying....
*"whatever"....(when 'sign a card!!)'-is spoken.
*"I'd never sign an AMFA CARD"...."look what happened to the Northwest guys"(read: nuetered)
*"you really think anybody else will make a difference?"
*"they say we'll be better off, but we won't"

You guys are going to need all the luck you can muster.
Never seen a bigger bunch of ball-less, pathetic, so called "union men" in my entire career. Exception, those of you who truly are ready to step up and stare the Co & TWU in the face and not blink.

I'm glad I'm not going to be around this screwed up place.
Headed back up to where I should've never left. Got the offer letter yesterday. Drug tested today. I'm outta here ASAP.

All the best to you guys. Fight the good fight men! Don't give up. I'll be watching from outside.
Take care!

Yeah I can't imagine the apathy will be like it always has been after this charade. WTH do we have to lose? But who knows what people are thinking? I'm sure a drive will be started so we will see.
Good luck to you as well my friend. I was laid off from my first job in aviation 24 years ago so I know it sucks but somehow it works out ok if you keep your nose clean.

Tom, you are right..
However, consider this. Obama had recently appointed two pro-labor members to the NLRB....Republicans fumed....Why could Obama not use that pro labor influence to get us released long before bankruptcy? Have the NMB release us and if necessary appoint a PEB? Why didn''t Obama do that? I remember a picture of Little meeting Obama..
Don't forget Clinton intervening 5 minutes after the AA pilots went on strike.

You see, Tom..The difference is the republicans will tell you they don't like labor where as the democrats tell you they support you but do nothing to show it.

Mike, you know whats even worse than Republicans and Democrats not doing anything for labor?
When labor wont do anything to help labor. The TWU is its own worse enemy. Old school rhetoric and protect the scumbags to keep the dues flowing.
It doesnt matter who is in The White House. This union is killing us.

You have yet to answer my questions. You have the wrong guy, if you believe I give a s**t about the political affiliation within the union. It is a waste of dues. Don't get me wrong the Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats. If you believe that the political machine has your best interest, you need to reassess your priorities.

My questions are based on what people will take advantage of and vote for or against just for some archaic idealism.

So if you are a union man, therefore a Democrat, what way are you going to vote without becoming hypocritical?

Well Buck, I'll be voting Democratic as I have Every Time I ever voted, except on my very first (18 year old) vote, when I voted for Nixon.

Why democratic ?
Since (virtually) every job I had was in a union (Textile Mill in the 60's/70's.........AA in the 80's/90's/2004, and the Rail Road today, I've voted for the D's because they were responsible for Higher wages/benefits and job security....PLUS keeping Foremen/Supervisors with BAD personalities from taking my livelihood....... away !

I honestly Don't see my wants and needs(that I always worked pretty hard for), as being hardly political !

There is alot of support for the angry mechanic in LAS. He sounds more like a leader than our bankruptcy negotiators.
If he is terminated, there is interest in supporting him as he speaks what we are all feeling but is the only one with the balls to say it out loud!
I salute Mr. Barnett for his passion and we all can relate to what he is saying.....(Minus a couple F bombs)

Brothers and Sisters. The enemy is not the UNION it's the GREED ! driven CORPORATION . Contracts for ALL in 2012. Elections to FOLLOW.

I have heard more employees express and interest in getting rid of and out of the TWU in the last week than at any other time in my career here at AA.

I can see a representation election for the Mechanic and Related group on the horizon soon.

When you have James C Little on video screaming that there is a crime scene at the BK Court and AA HDQ one week, and then the next week he is selling you FEAR to buy another concession agreement, even the most hard headed can now see through the TWU Lies and ingnorance.

I would have never guessed that James C Little would turn out the be the one to get the most Cards Signed for a representation dispute, but guess what? He will get the prize!

I will celebrate after the NMB vote to oust the TWU.
