If somebody reading this attends, can you ask him what measures US has taken to ensure smooth, rapid transactions for all of the added fees?
I have stated here and on numerous boards that I'm not opposed to fees in principle: I am only opposed to the manner in which the fees impact my travel experience.
Customers should have the option of paying for all airport and onboard fees IN ADVANCE, in the initial ticket purchase stage, or at any time online. Kiosks at the airport should be able to read credit cards and collect the baggage fees.
There should be a separate "express" line at the ticket counter for people who have pre-purchased the checked baggage fees, so they do not have to stand in line behind all of the people who did not plan in advance, or think that the rules do not apply to them. I don't want to be making any transactions at the ticket counter, and I sure has heck do not want to be standing in line behind others who are.
Onboard credit card readers are long overdue. I think it is an embarrassment that they are the only U.S. carrier charging for non-alcoholic beverages, and they do not even have a cashless system (with the ability to generate a printed receipt) in place.
Make the system user-friendly or suffer the customer backlash!!!
