If you're yawning, and missing his point, consider these "cliff notes". When the US was strongest, the same US that republicans reminisce about, was a country were the rich paid their fair share and laborors were considered stakeholders in a companys' future not a liability.
Republicans have been trying to return the US to the status it had in the fifties with a different formula called trickle down economics. Where the rich paid less and used their wealth to create jobs. That formula is a colossal failure. A lot of that wealth went to Switzerland and the caymans.
Clinton had some success with reversing trickle down but Bush threw us the brakes on with his tax cuts. And here we are today.
