Twinkees Dead, Union Charged with Ho-Homicide..

Got to love those in MSM for supporting the cause.

[background=rgb(255, 255, 255)]The cast of Good Morning America on Friday treated the bankruptcy of Hostess and the loss of 18,500 jobs as a hilarious joke. Josh Elliott, George Stephanopoulos and others guffawed as they handed out Twinkies and ate them on set. [See video below. MP3 audio here.] This is the same program that repeatedly spun Republican Mitt Romney as out of touch with the average American.

[background=rgb(255, 255, 255)]The same laughing at pink slips occurred Saturday on National Public Radio's game show Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.Players were given a question after NPR newscaster Karl Kasell asked in a low growl "Where are you, you spongy yellow delicious bastards?"
Host Peter Sagal explained Kasell was delivering a Woody Harrelson line about Twinkies from the movie Zombieland. After a contestant answered that it was Hostess that shut down this week, Sagal started the wise cracks. "Hostess Incorporated, they make Twinkies, Ding-Dongs, Wonder Bread, Fudge Puppies, Fat Crammers, and Lard Bursts [laughter]...said they would liquidate the company if striking workers didn’t come back to work."

Nice video with the CEO commenting on the onerous work rules and unwillingness of BCTGM to negotiate with the company. Not sure if this is a first, but the CEO claims this is the first time the IBT has readily encouraged its members to cross picket lines.

Once again you dont get it.

How can you reward executives for failure while the workforce gives back concessions.

Don't see how the Krugman oped is germaine to Hostess just more "soak the rich" rhetoric abd discussion of corporate responsibility. Yawn.

Try reading it again. If you still dont get it, just read the last paragraph and a half.

It has a lot to do with hostess and mgt/ labor relations in general

If you're yawning, and missing his point, consider these "cliff notes". When the US was strongest, the same US that republicans reminisce about, was a country were the rich paid their fair share and laborors were considered stakeholders in a companys' future not a liability.

Republicans have been trying to return the US to the status it had in the fifties with a different formula called trickle down economics. Where the rich paid less and used their wealth to create jobs. That formula is a colossal failure. A lot of that wealth went to Switzerland and the caymans.

Clinton had some success with reversing trickle down but Bush threw us the brakes on with his tax cuts. And here we are today.

Bush tax cuts expired in 2010. Who extended them and why?

Please show me where the government is force feeding healthy foods to our youth. You still have the right and ability to feed your kid all the double cheeseburgers with super size fries, and a 44 oz soda.

Try looking into your school cafeteria.

Try looking into your school cafeteria.
My son's school district about four years ago, removed all the fryers and have healthier quality food and even a salad option for the kids to choose from.

They even post nutritional values of all the food items
