What's new

TWU,TEAMSTERS AND AA

INSANITY???? WHAT PART OF FAILED DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND!!! WELL PUT ANOMALY...

VOTE IBT
GO IBT
OR WRITE-IN AND FAIL

The only failures I see are the TWU and the IBT.
We need a craft union for AMT's. The industrial unions have done nothing to improve our profession. They collect our dues and they go into a fund to pay for the triple digit salaries of the unelected, unaccountable and sellouts that we no longer want.
With AMFA our dues stays with the locals and the international gets a percentage. AMFA has no ATD division because we are the ATD. AMFA has no International officers making over $100,000.00 in union salaries on top of their company payroll.
AMFA holds all officers accountable and all changes and amendments are voted by the members. NO back door deals. AMFA spends more money per member than the TWU and IBT because we are the majority. With the TWU and IBT we will be a small crumb in the pie of the 1.4 million members. Who do you think will have a say?
Oh and I forgot that with the IBT we will NOT have our own maintenance locals and a person will be appointed to be our representative. We can not pick who we want to represent us. We can not have our own locals and we will pay dearly for it in union dues and future concessionary contracts. Is this what we really want? It is if you do not educate yourself and listen to the IBT supporters that have a different agenda in mind. Ask yourself this question. Are you a AMT and take pride in your profession?
If you truly are then how can you support the IBT which is even worse than the TWU.
If you get a ballot think of your Frozen pension AA currently manages. It would not be difficult for the IBT to convince AA to turn over our Frozen pension over to the IBT.
Under USAir, management dumped them to the PBGC. Don't think that they would not do the same by dumping it to the IBT into one or more of their underfunded pension funds. If the IBT gets a hold of our pensions you can kiss them and your retirement good bye. TWU and AMFA does not deal with pension funds. IBT has a long bad reputation of mismanaged pension money. Do a search on the Internet for yourselves and get educated. If you get a ballot vote with a educated choice not a one with anger towards the TWU.

USE THE WRITE - IN CHOICE.

WRITE - IN "AMFA"

Lets use common sense AMFA started a drive before IBT and in less than a year IBT FILED.
AMFA had more time and said they had the cards and FAILED.
Now you have to pick to stay TWU or go IBT just like the US Airways amt are doing with the IAM and IBT who also FILED and will soon vote.
AMFA did not have the support at US and failed to have the required support at AA...(common sense) IBT FILED at AA and US and amfa failed to have the support. FACT!!!

GO IBT
VOTE IBT
Have a nice IBT day!!!!!

You know what is also a Fact?

Just because the IBT filed, does not mean they have the support or will win at AA.

I know for sure if I get a ballot, I will be writing in AMFA.

THAT''S A FACT!!!

Have an AMT day!!

Lets use common sense.

AMFA has maintenance locals.
IBT DOES NOT.

AMFA elects its Maintenance officers.
IBT Appoints them.

AMFA charges 2x Base pay in dues.
IBT is 2.5x all inclusive. The .5 goes to a strike fund that we will never use.

AMFA represents M&R only so more money stays to represent only M&R.
IBT represents anyone in any field that pays union dues.

AMFA does not handle pensions.
IBT does and is doing one hell of a job keeping them funded. (LOL)

Just because the IBT filed before AMFA does not mean that AMFA has no support.
The filing does not change AMFA's constitution.
The filing does not change the IBT's constitution.

IBT's filing does not guarantee a filing. We will know in a week or two.

If I get a ballot in the mail you will see how much support AMFA has.
I am in contact with AMT's from stations around the system. Many are afraid of what the IBT will do if elected. The AMFA Write In campaign is moving along rather nicely and no one has officially started it. Just think how many more will write in AMFA when a campaign officially kicks off. But I am sure IBT guys like you will tell guys that if the vote is split the TWU wins by default. We got that covered and any other lies you guys may spread. I hope whatever decision you guys make over at USAir is a educated one. I know you guys are pissed at the IAM. We are pissed at the TWU but that does not mean we have to vote to replace them with just anyone without first educating ourselves on our choices.

If you want to compare support by how many cards were filed then tell us how many cards did the IBT filed that were genuine signers? Do you know or will you just post a number? My sources tell me that AMFA filed with 5,600 cards even though they were denied. A fellow AMT that I know in Tulsa who is a organizer told me that there were about 200 or so new signers in cards in Tulsa alone that never made it to the NMB so if that is a true statement that would bring the number up to approximately 5,800 cards. Again I ask you how many cards did the Teamsters file at AA?

Cards filed is not a good way to determine support. The final tally is a better one assuming we get an election. But that is not the best way to determine support either.
The best way is member involvement. With AMFA members are involved in every major decision that affects them. With the TWU and IBT the appointed idiots make those decisions for us regardless how we feel about it. You call that democracy?

Like I said send me a ballot and you will see how much support AMFA has.

AMFA on the WRITE - IN is the only educated choice for the skilled AMT professional.

BTW: Have you guys sorted out your pension issues with the IAM if you change representation? I keep reading that there are differences of opinion on this issue if you change unions. You guys need to sort that out before the ballots come out.
Pensions are a serious issue. Hate to see the IBT get a hold of your pensions.

You guys should be hearing something this week. This coming Tuesday will put it at a solid month (4 weeks) since the filing. Although US came back rather quickly, I believe they only have about 1/3 of the mechanics to verify sigs. BTW 1AA, what is the final number of mechanics as of the filing date 5-28-13? With your numbers above, and as you stated, once there is an election announced more people will write-in AMFA, then there should be no problem getting a run-off election with AMFA and whoever gets the most votes out of TWU/ibt. Good luck to you guys. Hope you guys get to vote.

I still think my original statement is correct.

"If you think about it, this has worked out great for the twu. The twu accused the teamsters of falsifying cards and the teamsters file and lock out all other unions from filing. The teamsters end up not having enough cards or the membership is too pissed off to vote for them and the iam and AA wins.

Sounds like a perfect plan."

Hopefully there will be enough "Write in for Amfa" to make all of this go away and finally AA mechanic's will get to control there own future.

Actually the company locked out AMFA when they conveniently showed up hours after the filing on the same day. That also locked out the IBT from adding more cards until the company provided a list. Very well played by the company. They have not missed a step since the BK filing.

I do not know the number of eligible voters on the day in question. Being that the company has one set of eligible employees and the IBT has another. It will be all sorted out by the NMB soon. I asked around but you have to ask the lead organizers on the numbers. If I was to guess in my opinion it would be around 11,000 give or take a few hundred. But that is my guess.

The IBT can't touch the mechanics pensions at US. If there is a change in representation, the new union has to enforce the current CBA until a new one is negotiated. The pension is a negotiated item and the IBT would have to ensure all monies that are due are paid into the IAMNPF. The IBT would have no say in it at all, other than to make sure that the company is contributing like they are supposed to per the CBA. The pension money stays going into the IAMNPF until it is negotiated away.

That's exactly what the IBT will do. Negotiate it away from IAMNPF to there fund.

Wrong, the pension will cease and the pension plan all ready stated it and put it in writing.

The amount of showing of support is very close. The NMB would have already called for an election. This thing will come down to the challenges. If the challenges were not significant, then the NMB would call for the election and figure out the challenges in the meantime. They either just made the showing of support or filed short.

Tim i bet the TWU has put a few chips in the gears. A few more days give or take and we will know....

It would be interesting to hear the challenges brought forward from both sides. Does anyone know if we will get access to the challenges and the rulings to the challenges and then of course the outcome? Could be very interesting indeed.
