UAL Corp. quarterly loss at $152 million

Many of you are. Sitting on your rear-ends waiting for the next meal to arrive, and then throwing a temper tantrum when you don't get your choice. Most of you have never grown up. I blame it on your mothers.
And we, the taxpayers, paid for many of your educations. You didn't do it for free.
Like marriage? Considering that most of you have two or three ex-wives running around, I guess excelling at everything you've done does not include working on inter-personal relationships.
I know of far more flight attendants with advanced degrees than pilots. Of course, if your idea of a "credible" institution of higher learning includes those which advertise on matchbook covers, then maybe you might have a legitimate claim.
You're not doctors; you're not scientists. You do not contribute anything lasting to society. Quit patting yourself on the back about being at "the top of the [the] profession." You are HOURLY LABOR, like the rest of us.

Hope you are in my BET class, should be quite interesting. 😛

I guess by your logic it's now the job of F/A's to sleep with the pilots because a few have gone the extra mile for the morale of fellow employees in the past. 🙄

That ship most certainly sailed back in the '60's. It's been a long time since most flight attendants would even look twice at some pilot. And, before you start making cracks about the age of cabin crews, take a look at most of the balding, paunchy, overweight men you see around pilot crew rooms these days.

I can't remember the last time I saw pilots, either individually or collectively, go "the extra mile for the morale of fellow employees."

If it doesn't fatten your wallet, or fatten your waistline, most pilots are not interested.

Get over yourself. 🙄

I simply wish that Straaight flew for UA. lmao!!!! Too funny. (and spot on)

Doesn't sound like any UA pilots I ever flew with.

Perhaps things are different at AA?

Well, I'd blame your rudeness and lack of respect for others on your dad, but you probably never knew him

No j@ckass, you, the taxpayer HIRED me to do something you never had the character to do yourself, and you paid me lower than market rates to do it. That's why they call the military "service". I guess I owe you a big thank you for paying me while I was flying combat missions and separated from my family for a year.

"Like marriage? Considering that most of you have two or three ex-wives running around, I guess excelling at everything you've done does not include working on inter-personal relationships."

Still happily married to the first wife. Totally devoted to her for over 18 years. How about you?

Let's see, my undergraduate degree is from the same school as the pres of USAir and my MS is from one of the most respected schools in the country. Where'd your's come from?

You're not doctors; you're not scientists. You do not contribute anything lasting to society. Quit patting yourself on the back about being at "the top of the [the] profession." You are HOURLY LABOR, like the rest of us.

Yes, we are paid by the hour to FLY THE F'N AIRPLANE. Mechs are paid to FIX THE F'N AIRPLANE. You my "dear" are paid to SERVE THE PASSENGERS. Do you understand that?

Typical pilot arrogance. Master of the universe, you are not. Courtesy is most certainly part of your job. You are in the public transportation business, a service industry.

Yet you "straaight" talk have the gall to attempt to tell pilots what THEIR JOB IS. WTF ARE YOU? Again, slowly, the pilots are paid to PROVIDE A SERVICE. THAT SERVICE IS FLYING THE F'N JET. When you go to a resteraunt, do you demand that the cook come out and take your order or clean the table? Maybe if you did YOUR job, then no one would even notice the pilots are gone.

Wow, that stings from a leaker who calls himself "straaight talk" (right...). Never tempted to go for an F/A. In addition to being happily married, I never was really tempted to cruise for chicks in retirement homes, and that pretty much describes the rude bunch of F/A's on this board.

I just don't do out of my way for non-high yield passengers or the company anymore.
And that, my friends, is what BEI is ALL about...The PREMIUM passenger. No where, at no time was emphasis put on the "everyday" passengers.

The overwrought, and semi-coherent, tone of your responses indicate to me that I, obviously, hit very close to home.

No, I just find it offensive when someone of your dubious character, class, and intelligence has the gall to attack anyone else.

Ignorance is bad enough, but it gets downright intolerable when mixed with arrogance.

I'd call you an imbecile, but I wouldn't want to offend the good imbeciles of the world

Were you disqualified for instability, by chance?

Space,
You're missing the point IMO. I'll bet the premium passengers would LOVE it if you gave them backrubs and foot massages on long flights. I'd bet that'd make UAL their airline of choice. Then why don't you?

would you do it if UAL paid you for the extra service you provide? the extra VALUE you are to the company? A lot of people would.

So back to the cards. Glen TOLD ME (along with a few hundred others that day a few months before he kicked me and my family to the curb will renting an apartment for $20K a month in ORD on UAL's fast dwindling dime) that I was worth NOT ONE CENT MORE than the LOWEST PAID pilot in the industry. Glen told me that passengers were not willing to pay ONE CENT MORE for economy plus than a seat on SWA. Of course when I asked why we don't can econ plus and put more revenue seats in the jet, glen responded that "the passengers like econ plus" I'd say Glen's "ampliflier goes to 11" but I might confuse "straaight talk"...

So one more time. Glen says all the extra stuff I did wasn't worth an F'n dime. If it isn't, THEN WHY DO IT? DON'T WASTE MY TIME!!

If Glen's a liar (nah, couldn't be...), and there IS value in signed cards to the 100K's and in "BET", then let's talk. Let's come to an agreement that is mutually benefitual to BOTH of us. What is unacceptable is for Glen, who doesn't think pilots should be at home more than 10 days a month, to decide on his own what one of MY PRECIOUS DAYS WITH MY FAMILY IS WORTH, then force me to give up that day so HE AND HIS ANNOINTED CLASS can make more money.

I have no problem at all with the concept of BET. Fine, let's do it. but before you do, you need to sit down with MY REPRESENTATIVES and come to an agreement that benefits US BOTH. Otherwise, GFY.

For someone who claims such advanced degrees, you write very poorly.

I'm sorry the educational system failed you. Perhaps a night course in Grammar and Writing at your local high school would help. On alternate nights, you might want to consider stopping in at the Anger Management seminar, as well.

Were you disqualified for instability, by chance?

Considered stable enough to be trusted with nuclear weapons and the military's biggets secrets. Sleep well....

What's you next reply? I'm rubber and you're glue? And people wonder why you're called sky nazis 🙄

Yeah, I've got an MS in Economics specializing in Quantitative business methods and operations research, which I'm sure doesn't compare to your Associates in Gender Identity studies. Not many MS degree's in journalism or english. I'll take suggestion under advisement, right after you go take some courses in Econ and "class". 🙄

...and you still can't string together a sentence without the use of "F'N this," or without your typically ridiculous snipes.

You prove all of my points with each post.

Good work. Keep it up.

How sad for your "wife," though. But, then again, I'm sure that's not her only disappointment with you.
