Pisses me OFF, AFA66 has not sent 1 e-mail/hotline/e-communication about this SYSTEM WIDE RSV meeting....but I've gotten 3 or 4 e-lines from east based AFA's about it..... I'm more happy then ever I signed that petition to have them removed from AFA66 office.

The RSV meeting in CLT is a local meeting for reserves with an invitation extended to any reserve f/a that wishes to attend - an invitation was extended to the merger negotiators and the east mec rsv chair - the agenda most likely will be discussions about upcoming reserve section negotiations/reserve issues - all are welcome - but it is a local clt council meeting with an emphasis on rsv issues....a creative/great idea that some seem to be giving negative vibes....let's take advantage folks...give some feedback and get some feedback..

I agree with you Baja. The f/as appear not to support those f/as or reps that have the knowledge and passion for the position. The big bases ususally put their cronnies in as some kind of favor...like..."I'll rub your back/and you rub mine". The idiots stay in the longest while the smartest most knowlegable get the street, which is so pathetic and why AFA sits where it does...absolutely no where year after year after year.

Sherry Baker knows her stuff smart as hell and does a great job from what I've been told at the table protecting the reserves... and gives Mike and Carol a run who love stampeding over the reserves...so I blieve there is a strong consipiracy to get rid of her because they think she is intimidating for them and they can't railroad her or intimidate her into silence. She's not married to the position and therefore can't be threatened to succomb to the likes of Mike or Carol.....

and the PHL LECP is all about promoting the same people over and over and over again and again and again to every position so that he just doesn't have to work or lift a finger.

Ok switching gears (since everything gets lumped up here) just how many side letters do we have to the contract? Is there a way to see these side letters? Your told to read your contract but when your manberries are in a bind and you read the contract you find yourself screwed due to a side letter. Are these not available to the flight attendants since it seems there are more side letters than contract language? I'm just sayin'....

The one side letter that will screw us every time is #13 Rest Consideration signed by none other than Carol Austin March 26th 1993. This allows them at Christmas and other time they failed to plan accordingly to ring your phone off the hook DURING your legal rest! They just love evoking that. She claims it was not the intent but I don't see AFA fighting to do anything about it.

I seem to remember this side letter being invoked a few Christmases back, and the company was told that they were using the side letter incorrectly, and people who were disciplined at the time were then cleared. I believe the AFA did step in to challenge the company??

On another note...folks on the WEST need to be very, very careful. There is a major conspiracy going on to recall or get rid of your current MECP and MECPVP...reason is..that's right...the EAST MECP, Mikey wants her out because she does not support the EAST MECP. He is trying hard to get her out and put in place with strong support Gary Richardson.

My understanding he's promised Gary the MECVP position support, and if he gets Gary in the MECP WEST postiion again, Mike will have the WEST MEC vote, as well as the low-life PHL LECP vote, throw in cowardly DCA and Mike is BACK in as the MECP for the entire AFA airline at U. He's so politically crafty and has been goomed by the International.

Pretty, pretty crafty, and so sneaky. I hear there is a petition by Richardson and Kirkabywho is still coocoo for coocoa puffs as usual and wants to oust the current WEST MECP Lisa out. Wants to put back in her cronnie, Inernational's cronnie Gary R. I even hear they are waiting for f/as off the plane to sign it asap. God help you all.

Don't let this happen folks, or you'll fall into the same TRAP as the political rangling and manipulation that takes place on the EAST.

You should always be supporting those unique individuals that go against the grain and status quo....you all should be strategizing to get rid of MIKE on the EAST as MECP. keep Lisa in and their may for once be some new blood to bring you all out of the merry-go-round.


Keep your people intact, and don't let Mike influence the ousting of the WEST MECP that he hates he can't control and she doesn't support him from what I've learned from my own investigaing.

Gary is owned by Mike...(I rub your back; you rub mine)...same #### over and over and over again with the same damn players with their own political agendas with disecting lines. It's not about doingwhats right for thef/as and negotiating improved language; but rather political rangling to stay in office. That's is and has been Mike entire agends from jump-fricken-street.

They can ring your phone off the HOOK during your in base rest but you don't have to answer. Gee great, its called REST and I can't rest with the blasted phone blaring off the hook. Turn it off you may oversleep or forget to turn the ringer on. It's insane and they know it. I remember that Christmas. They just rang the phone over and over and over and over until you broke down and had enough. All mind games and AFA allows it. If it isn't the intent of the letter then STOP IT.

You wanna know who, then PM me, but I'm not posting their name in this public forum. He has NOTHING to do with the union, has never even volunteered over there. Second thing you are wrong about is that the recall is being done for all 4 of the people currently in office. I know this because I just signed the recall petition for all 4 of them. So from the get go, your post is not completely right. I'm not sure who you are getting your information from, but you are not getting the whole story. He believes all of them are at fault for the lack of communication and the stupid mistakes being made by people. It started with Lisa's screw up that caused the reserves to lose out on training pay for the handheld devices and then the thing that did it for him were the charges. He's pissed that the President and Sec/Treas. were stupid enough to steal papers that weren't theirs and copy them. It's a mess, and he along with LOTS of other reserves and lineholders want them OUT. Now a lot of people are upset over some vacation issue. I'm not up to speed on that one. Anyways, sounds like to me you're getting a bit of a different story from the other side. Perhaps those that aren't even on the west should let us duke it out? I really don't want thieves and liars representing me at all or people that can't even talk to each other. Don't put any money on betting that Mike's going to be gone when there is a merged agreement. He will keep the post until he lands International..which he tried for twice. MARK MY WORDS: There will be no MERGED agreement until Mike is sure he can control his seat....now that needs some follow-up don't you think??????? If he allows for a merged agreement for a vote, that could possibly cost him his MECP seat. First of all, there should be NO information obtained by anyone on the nego. committee that is for the eyes of one person only on the committee. NEVER, EVER first rule for the neg. committee. Otherwise, they should all be out when they operate independenly, and hiding papers from eachother....bad bad bad news here.
The MECP of the EAST should not accept ANY PAPERS OR DOCUMENTS that is not shared by all. PERIOD!!!! RULE # UNO!!!!!!! The MECP does not ACT as a SOLO intiity but as the spokes person for the MEC....get it!!!! yet????? And ALL members of the EAST MEC need to know what's been given as well, not just 1 member in secret...again bad news and very suspect of conspiracy against not only the WEST MECP and the committee as a whole by possible injury to the WEST f/as. You aren't here, you don't "live" with it. I can trust my MEC really? Okay, well I guess I'll go back and look for that training pay I was screwed out of last December. Guess I didn't look at my check close enough. The same pay I was assured I would get. I don't even know if they are trying to resolve or grieve the issue because no will return a phone call and you can't even leave the VP a message. I know Mike. He started out NOBLE and turned into a political machine. That happens with certain individuals that are so "self serving", they bleed the shittt.

He is not what i consider a union rep or spokes person and should not be holding a seat. He's lied many, many times to me and about me when he wanted my seat, and even after. He's all about Mike. We've had these kinds before so they are so easy to pick out.

As I said, the hardest part of my job when I was MECP or the Local is dealing with the union reps on the MEC level and International. The Company was a walk in the park. To be really effective and get what the f/as deserve from the company, you need a cohesive MEC whose all about promoting the f/as group and not their own agendas.

Very hard to do, and difficult to find good decent people that can't be corrupted. But the good thing is that the system is set up to remove these kinds of people if your organized. unfortuantely, folks are not educated enough or privy to what goes on in the inter workings of the union and what motivates these kinds of lowlifes to keep holding these seats.

Company is well aware of this wrangling and let's AFA just joke themselves. They don't have to lift a finger, or move one way or another. There's no incentive on the company's part when they know they are dealing with union reps who are their to promote themselves.

Sorry but until you have "lived" out here on the west, you can't know about the level of dishonesty going on out here. They are liars. All of them. I'll say it again. They are liars. Even worse, they believe their own lies. So we (at least most of the reserves) are done.

Now, (according to a PM I just got) perhaps Debra Volpe is telling you otherwise, and I suspect she is since she is such good friends with Lisa Lecarre. You are not getting all the facts, you're getting that side of the story. Fact is, doesn't matter what side of the story people are on, it's ALL bull s**t. The west can't let anyone, much less an anonymous poster on USAviation, scare us in to not standing up for what we want. We want people in office who are going to live up to the very issues they campaigned on. They aren't, so OUT they go. It's really that simple.

Oh, and we were actually doing pretty well with our own talks (according to union hotlines) up until the merger. I think we all know that as long as our pilots are so split we are a ways from a contract. I think it's a little silly to blame the duration of talks all on AFA without considering the economy and the pilot mess. But hey, I'm just some silly junior reserve FA.
