US Air to Address Creditors on Takeover plan

There is nothing in it for employees except more pain. Mergers are not about or for employees or even for the "company". Mergers are about putting a lot of money in the right persons pockets.
Well stated!
The 'select few' (Executives, BOD, financiers, etc) will continue to reap growing compensation and bonuses while the 'unwashed masses' continue to take it in the shorts.

Just think, a US/AA merger (after BK exit) would be of great benefit as the employees try to integrate seniority lists. This would stagnate wages for another 10 years (or more) and would be brilliant for the 'select few' to skim profits as the fractionalized 'unwashed masses' fight over pennies.

Same can be said with BK.

IMHO,
B) xUT

Something is being promised to someone at APFA apparently...maybe Parker is throwing his own under the bus.

good article... problem is that labor still only represents 1/3 of the UCC and it is far from certain that even all three labor groups could agree on the same strategy.
There have been no shortage of us arguing that there are significant structural issues that AA-US doesn't solve - and the fact that US is pushing so hard and at least the APFA wants to listen shows that there are enough people who will pretend that gravity doesn't apply to them.
But we all know better.
