Sounds like a standard westie response, ignore the question and throw out something about USAPA. I never said the west was overpaid, they are underpaid. We on the east have just been paid worse and that has helped the company.

How about it, your bid out? You guys been carrying 100 extra for a while?

We are "critically staffed" every day and I haven't been able to move a trip in months......answer your question.

Why are we assuming the poster is female? Did I miss something here?

You can be any gender you want here. I haven't decided which one I am yet, at least for the purpose of posting.

I see newbies are flocking here by the hundreds! I think it is my animated avatar that is drawing them.

Actually I must admit I am an old-timer where USAir is concerned. I go back to Norm Rintoul days. I was one of the people in the back of those gorgeous red Stinsons who threw the mail out and then caught the new bag of mail. I was humbled by the experience. One day I threw me out instead of the mail. Sacre blu!
That ended my career.

Anyone here remember Norm Rintoul or Frank Petee or.......well ever since I fell out of that Stinson my mind is as flat as my body is. You can name more if you wish .........or if you can. These were the men who were the beginning of All American Airways, hence "AAA" and flew with Allegheny after AAA which is really one in the same.

Cactus people, do you know the history of this once fine and proud airline? It has its roots in infinity. I don't mean that to be argumentative. The history of AAA is incredibly interesting.

Ciao.....for niao,

I don't understand how Us Airways thinks it has superseded the AWA pilots. The comments posted about working together as one and you boast about winning. Us Airways appears to be playing there own game and calling the rules as they go along, similar to the Bush Admin, as long as things go their way. Seniority might matter but, integrity is what founded this country! If the pubLic was aware of the selfish attitude and childish demeanor: such as physical violence, threats and name calling the company would be in bankruptcy yesterday instead of on its way for tomorrow. The general public show be ware of the aged on medical leave as well.

Both sides agreed to arbitration when Us Airways did not prevail they whined and then outvoted the union, not to mention the East has more pilots. Then you are allowing your fellow employees to lose their job. AWA will at least step up to the plate and try to bargain early retirement, reduce guarantee etc. to help the fellows to stay on board.

Us airways is the typical self-center American that needs to grow up!

Mercy me!
If I take your post as written, I would need therapy. USAir(ways) is the name of the company. I don't see them boasting at the moment, although that could turn on a dime. How on God's green earth do you make the nexus between USAir(ways) and President Bush! Please somebody! Get me my prozac and a big glass of vodka!

Here's the deal: I think you mean USAPA and not USAIRways......that's for starters. Secondly, USAPA was born under the National Mediation Board's auspices.

B. AWA pilots are now represented by USAPA so they cannot bargain as AWA pilots.

C. Did you really write the above or did I drink that vodka too fast? I forgot the prozac.

F. I have to go now. I can't see my computer screen. That Grey Goose bite me. 😛

J. kerthunk.........alas poor Utterly Udderly....we knew her well. 🙁

That's a great solution and makes perfect sense.

Therefore, it will never happen.

Bus dear......."flag"? That gives me a case of the vapors. Where IS my fainting couch? Think outside of the box! I am in the box at the present time so I am no help to you whatever. Since you are outside, get me a latte and then THIMK! REALLY THIMK! "flag" is so.........so.....well just plain common. You can get "flag(ed)" in a bar or a cop can flag you down. I'm certain you get my point.

How about a fancy name with sequins all over it? Sparkle counts these days. Or is that bling? I don't know. I need to get out of this box and get to the hair of the dog that bit me!

Sincerely Bus, I am your fan club.

By the by, where is Eastus? I hope he isn't living on corn for a couple of weeks. He reminds me some of William F. Buckley. Jr. He has panache and of course many of you do as well. I rather miss those AWAPPA people. I hope they have decided to pony up their dues or they could be riding a big horse out of town.

Cribbage anyone?

He's enjoying Fathers Day with his family. Like I will be this afternoon.

So to all: If you are lucky enough to be off, Have a Great Day!

Thanks AAA. I'd forgotten today was Father's Day. My bad! Since I have not fathered any offspring, I forgot to mark today on my list of things to do. AAA <----- by the way, you are most informative......in my humble opinion, the most informed poster on this forum.

My offspring sprang from a few of my ribs....or is that loin? Come to think of it, I am missing a couple of ribs and I have a waist like Cher's. No matter, I love them just the same as if I were their father since I am their mom. <----------for purposes of posting here.

Have a wonderful day with your children and family,

Well... I believe we are looking at the amount of rambling and subject jumping...It definately comes off as a female rant 🙄

Oh my stars and garters and suspenders too! Females rant? I hadn't noticed 😱 and I will take this under advisement. I am wearing my red suspenders so that should help me some.

Em pilots got doh for vac., term pass, etc., but not for bidding a/c positions.

Not true. Former Empire pilots do not bid vacation predicated on their Empire DOH.

They were also supposed to get credit for Empire DOH for retirement and furlough protection.

With regard to the former, when two former Empire pilots applied for early retirement several years ago, they were denied because they were too junior (only a certain number of early retirements were offered, in seniority order) because their Empire DOH was not recognized, even though that had been agreed to during the UR/PI integration. Another feather in the cap of the deposed CBA.

As for the latter, one would expect those rules to be changed, too, if it ever appears that the former Empire pilots might actually ever benefit from them.

I don't know. I do know that cutting 10% on one side and 4% on the other is something that a responsible union that claims to want to defend the interests of ALL US Airways pilots should be outraged over.

I don't see much outrage. Bradford seems to like the west contract; the west pilots not so much.
You won't see much outrage either. Have you forgotten the east pilots have been here before, multiple times? Sad really. Your continued jabs at USAPA and Bradford are a little misplaced. We have 2 separate contracts. Each with their own benefits and faults. You wanted to use some of those faults against the east as (One west poster said) leverage to force a joint agreement. It didn't work then and it won't work now. So no, you won't see much outrage here over the disparate furloughing.

I guess the next agenda item will be health care coverage assessments for furloughed members will be proposed soon. I'll vote for them again, just like last time. Even though USAPA didn't hire anyone. Nor does it make the furlough decisions either. I guess the age old adage still rings true, "Hire til you furlough, furlough til you hire".

What I also find interesting is the return to the bid by 11 ex-ALPA FPL people and removing 3 USAPA people. hhmm IMHO USAPA is doing quite well with the full time FPL expenditures.
