NO concessions until we are forced by the black shroud and sickle of bankruptcy! Why should I pay for unnecessary managers and idiotic decisions? There has to be a basic minimum value for what we do and we are there now.

Freedumb, I remember you prattling on and on about your little raise and d@3n those 18 stations. Now you realize your mistake and want a do-over like in third grade? Do you have any sense of worth at all? The T/A was agreed upon by the company with full knowledge of the gas crisis. You were the one harping on and on about how gas was skyrocketing, now you want us to believe that the paltry gains you wanted are dragging the company down? I hope one of the LAS night guys kicks you in the (insert painful anatomy here) you fool.

Well…

It appears as if this forum is beginning to evolve into a “should we take concessions or not forumâ€￾.

As an ND08 supporter… I’ll assure you that I will never under any circumstances endorse concessions. I am very certain that my constitutes feel the same way.

Those who are in support of taking concessions to save the Company are delusional!

Even if Fleet were to agree to future concessions, our small contribution to overall corporate costs is so insignificant that it would not make any difference. We could literally work for free ,and the Company would still go out of business!

I will ask all who support taking concessions to post your reasons here in this forum.

We will clearly define friend from foe in this regard.
I stand with you 100 % on this

It is obvious freedumb is a corporate POS trying to soften FLEET group to mentally prepare us to take concessions. Fact, our new LEADERS are going to shove it up al and dougies arse so deep that they will need to be life flighted to the nearest hospital!!!!!

I hope not. He's failing miserably, only creating more solidarity. And failures get promoted, not fired. He might be Kirbys replacement!

My Dear Gentle Roabilly,

Staying in business should be the objective of all company employees. That might mean concessions too. However, the first start should be a reduction in "unstated benefits" of being ramper. We know the "unstated benefits"... 2+ hour breaks between flights, hours of TV time watching, my lengthy snoozes on the bag room couch... you get the picture.

The lack of productivity would be a management issue insofar as the poor scheduling in both staffing and flights. Increased productivity would be a good first start without effecting pay and benefits. However, given this management team, they will first present themselves with hat in hand instead of fixing an inefficient operation. SWA guys are working 6 turns in 8 hours while we are lucky to do 3 or 4 turns in 8 hours? SWA guys are loading with one guy in the bin too. Are we ready for that? I predict many paramedic code calls if this becomes fleet policy.

So Foresees Jester.

Jester,

That may be how the hubs work but I can rest assure you that there is NO naptime in my station....GF

If you knew what I was about , you would understand that I was 100% for the TA for multiple now SELF EVIDENT reasons .. i suggest you hold your tongue before you call ME the short sighted one , what I predicted is pretty much coming to pass in the industry.

As for the 19 field stations , I want them back because , well why not ? There maybe an opportunity coming up that may give us the chance to bargain them back , why not take it ?

Sure I voted yes on selling out the field stations , but I had little practical choice in the matter , and I said even then , if there was a way to get them back , I’d try for it .

Hmmm will we have to take concessions or not …. I feel that sooner or later we will … most people working for us airways will understand why , with an added 1.9 billion dollars more in costs this year , the reason is clear as daylight …

With this work group , it may in fact be necessary to return to chapter eleven , unless of course going back to BK would cause our doors to shut , in which case most of you too the man would agree to consensual concessions .. you all like myself have simply worked here for too long , your locked into us airways now , and there’s little you can do about it… furthermore as the economy continues to sink and jobs are harder to find you’ll be increasingly linked to this corporation … that goes for every employee at the company ..

On the UP side , don’t worry too much , I find it VERY unlikely that our work group would endure concessions WORSE than the previous BK contract .. right now I’m just thinking , that’s all , no need to get worked up …. It’s like we’re on a train and several miles down the road is a brick wall and we’re going full speed toward it …I’m simply musing what might happen as we get closer to it .. no need to take things so personally …

Mr Jester
I have a question for you. How do you propose we unload an A321 with 6 to 8 thousand pounds on it and then turn around and load another 6 to 8 thousand back on with one guy in the bin? SWA whole fleet is 737 ours is not. FWIT: Most days I do 5 turns in an 8 hours day. The nature of the business we are in is we are either working wide open or doing nothing at all. The schedule dictates that for us not laziness on anyones part.

Well I see you've softened your tune a little......FREEDUM

You must have listened to Kirby on CNBC. If you didn't, than what he said is LABOR cost reductions is not a factor................Cut Capacity is the only way.

So take that to your next round table meeting.

Eh .. jester does have a point , we have some ramps in PHX where the average flight turn rate is two a day … 😛h34r:

p.p.s.s one of the two is usually an airbus ... A30 or A319

Most days, especially weekdays,...5 banks...5 flights on a shift...usually quality flights...WE WILL NOT WORK with 1 person in bin on the big birds....that's out....front bin if light may get by with 1....we work at minimum 3 person teams with a Lead...we believe in doing it Safe, and doing it Right...we have a great group of Career Employees....but not stupid!!!!

Back around 2000 former America West managment thought they could do more with less on the ramp when they tried the whole "one teamlead and one assist" to work a flight. It was a big disaster to say the least.
