Been reading other retarded posts on another thread about a job action in Philly and I wanna get a look at the views from others in the system on action in regards to the 22 thugs.

OK, I've obviously blocked all information on this "wild cat" strike.

First, it makes no sense to me at all. Due process will prevail, right?

There were no strikes by any group as wages, pensions and benefits were cut and executives walked out with millions.

What is up with this?

I'm pro-union. My mother was a Teamster produce buyer for Safeway in the 1980s - until they shut down her plant, laid her off and offered her her old job back as a scab at 3/4 the wages. She told Safeway where to stick it. I walked a Newspaper Guild picket line when I was 8 years old. I look for the union label. I believe good, strong, democratic employee organizations are part of the foundation of this country.

But if anyone actually thinks that any sort of job action or strike over these firings will go over like anything other than a lead balloon in the public eye, the only one they're fooling is themselves.

The propaganda will write itself. The talking heads will have a field day - "Unions run amok, it's time someone stepped in, they're destroying a company because the company took action to stop union thugs," yadda yadda yadda. It doesn't matter how true it is - it'll be everywhere.

The strength of unions is their public image - their ability to paint corporations as evil monoliths out to destroy people and communities, and the union as the way for ordinary people to come together and fight back. Witness the fight against Wal-Mart.

Striking over the firing of people who violated company policies, common sense and the Penal Code plays right into the hands of every anti-union stereotype ever trotted out - they're thugs, they're self-interested, they don't have principles, they're anti-democratic, they stifle dissent, etc. etc. etc. - every single last one of them.

I'am a'mazed as of my post that there were 23 people that voted to risk their jobs for these people.
I want to believe their all talk and no action, But sorry to say nothing that happens in PHL surprises me anymore.

IF there is sufficient proof that these 22 are in fact the thugs that they are reported to be (and it appears that there IS such proof), then they deserve what they got, and the firing should be the LEAST of their worries--if I were them I'd be concerned about staying out of prison (although it appears that's already fixed), and I would be worried about a RICO civil suit.

In the event of a job action such as an illegal wildcat strike to support these alleged thugs, then I would fire every single one who walked out. There is no longer a place for this kind of nonsense, and it should not be tolerated.

Remember I use IF and ALLEGED alot---I am not assuming guilt, but it does APPEAR that there is plenty of proof, and you all know my motto, PERCEPTION is REALITY to most....

what proof is there?
the only proof is that these people were a the hotel.
there were no cameras in the room where the incident occurred.who started the fracas?why were there no charges from the police?

Corperate believes that Phl is the strongest union stronghold,bust Phl and everyone else will fall in line.
The company would like nothing better than to have a run off election,so that there would not be a union at all.
Parker has already said that we must cut further costs.
What better way than to pay us all at $9.00 an hour.
