One school of economics ... the Austrians .. not only predicted the global economic crisis but also the reasons why it would come and they started doing that the moment the conditions that would cause the crisis started to appear.
Very few people, except those who prepared for the crisis, believed the Austrians.
And the absolute worst were the politicians. They studiously ignored and then, openly defied, all those who advocated Austrian economics.
Now .. if you read the current predictions of the Austrians... the worst is still to come.
All the "solutions" of the current crop of leaders are not going to work. All the "good intentions" and "wishing and wanting" is not going to make them work.
Now ... you ask ... why don't people simply go to the one school of economics that does work?
Because the implications cut straight across all those that believe in collectivist, statist, socialist models.
Those people will refuse to abandon their mythologies, regardless of the cost to other people."
