I agree with someone who said charge for non-revs. Too many of our employees jump a flight to have dinner in SFO.
Sure it's a great benifit, but people abuse it. Why add weight to the airplane just to eat and add weight to yourself.
Charge a nominal $30 charge. It won't hurt the employees, it'll help the bottom line and it'll keep people from just hopping around for no reason.
Or start them off at SA7P and for $20 dollars move up to an SA3P and for $20 more an SA2P.
You know how many people would leave the company if they implemented this?!?!
That would be an atrocity! We are already the lowest paid in the industry and to have to pay for our non-rev benefits on top of that?!?! Not happening.
In actuality, it helps the number crunchers to see a "full" plane even if the last handful of seats go to the non-revs. A full plane is desirable to those that crunch the numbers in a Tempe air-conditioned suite under Dougies office. There is no waste, harm, or otherwise to get a few employees on an airplane at no cost. Our old buddy pass system at HP was fair, but the one imposed on us NOW generates the company plenty of $$ for SA7P travel... that is why I usually have most of my passes left at the end of the year. I tell my friends to go onto Southwest.com and book advanced travel on their website and they can get a CONFIRMED seat for the same price as my SA7P offers them.
LEAVE THE NON-REV POLICY ALONE...
P.S. - I still like my coin operated lav idea...
