WEST MANAGER ABUSE EAST EMPLOYEES

if you work in one of the 38 cities that have both east and west employees--and you have a west manager that has told---senior EAST agents he can make retirement happen in 1 day--dont like the work schedule feel free to transfer--etc etc--if you have called HR but they do nothing--called the ETHICS hotline they do nothing---there are other options--call the UNION file a COMPLAINT--Call the EEOC---call AARP--call FAA start reporting issues they are interested in ----get in on the petition to get RID of the TOP BRASS--and bring in a fair and equal management team
 
sign me up for the petition, these west managers are clueless on how to run an airline, the person that knows where
we can write to and complain about unfair management, someone needs start paper trails, forget the union
the national are a bunch of idoits, they are in the compnays pocket. hunting for a new union, bye bye cwa garbage
lets make a stand..
 
All I will say is Document, Document Document and then document some more. This kind of stuff went out of style when I was in diapers. Petty tyrants usually think they are above the rules and therefore in many cases p0oor record keepers.

As for who to complain to you have to start with your Union.

Once you have created a nice long paper trial you can always send it to the media. You can also call the persons bluff and say "Go For It" when threatened. The person sounds like a first class bully. Stand up to him/her. I'll bet it backs down and if not there is always the union. Just be careful that you're not insubordinate. Telling not to threaten you and either follow through on the threat or loeave you alone is NOT insubordination. Also you can insist that before you have any meeting with this person that a union rep be present during the meeting.

These A--holes need to be taught a lesson in respect. Looks like it's your turn to make that stand.
I agree with PB about the meeting. Just make sure you have someone with you as a witness. Take good notes. If it does'nt go as planned, call the Ethic's Hotline and tell them you want a response.
 
I'm all in favor of tape recorders. I had to use one years ago. Boy, that will take the wind out of their sails.
 
I feel for you...had 8 years with 5 different managers and they were all friggin clueless and tried acting like nazis...now no difference just an older, supposedly more experience nazi.....and we are in a "hot" station where we have eastn and west employees'....pm me if you chose and if you are where I think you are I might be able to give you some tips for survival ect...then again, they have been "protected" for soo long might not make a difference.

Check out www.dol.gov. Also, check out this link http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/labor-relations/index.htm. I think it will help, honestly I had to use the DOL, a few years back and they don't mess around. They got things resolved in no un-certain terms, basically they grabbed my boss where it hurts(in the checkbook) made him do what I was asking and even more because what he was doing was not right. But you know what saved my butt? My documentation, I had everything in writing. So, everyone's posts are right, you need to start a paper trail. Start keeping a notebook, I don't care how tired you are when you get home at night, you write down what happened that day at work.

None of you have any future not only in aviaton but any other business (except maybe gov't).

You are not cool just because your mommie is letting you make "rad" postings to the grown ups airline forum on her computer. If you ever have to leave the protective womb of your parents household you will discover that superior effort and dedication over the years should AT LEAST be compensated by a decent living wage and environmental conditions.
Now, go back to your X-box and leave the adults alone.

Guess what, we out number you, as the west fleet service found out, as the west pilots will find out. The east is the real part of this airline $$$, so go stick your head in that plentiful Arizona sand.
 
The west "culture", aka manage by intimidation, has been wicking its way into the east culture. Many have returned from TDY or traveling to back up this claim. West agents being disciplined for minor errors such as ticket lift count discrepencies and having a passenger board the wrong flight. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently very few west agents have ever seen a copy of their contract. These confrontational tactics are right out of the sixties. Doug needs to take a closer look at how employees at WN and CO are treated as assets rather than liabilities. All of the employees are an important part of our success and must be treated with respect. Simply cutting costs will not make this thing work. We are destined to failure if this disturbing trend continues.
 
If the original post is completely accurate and not skewed at all, then yes this manager is an idiot and needs to be fired. But I'm willing to bet there are pretty good managers on the west .. and there are probably also equally bad managers on the east.
