Since there is a "no-raid" agreement with the IAM, which union should we go with after we vote the TWU out?

I had the IAM and AMFA at NWA. I liked AMFA for the fact there were no secrets. Members could come to the negoitating table and hear what was said. None of this back room side deal stuff. Although AMFA doesnt have the lobby power or allot of cash like other unions. This could be there time to create a trade union between the merged carriers. So many times i hear that AMFA was not any good for NWA. The deck was stacked against the mechanics there. Either vote to get all the jobs or fight for them. NWA had a plan. Either way the mechanics would lose.

Well, we have all seen how the TWU's lobby power has benefitted us.

With a seniority date of late 2000 I am out on the street anyway (and so is my wife) but, my opinion is TWU needs to go. We need a UNION of AMR employees only. No AMR UNION officer should stay in office without a vote for more than 2 years. All future ballots should be paper.
The problem with most UNIONS is they are international and therefore untouchable by the common workforce. This has been engineered this way for corporate benefit. Any UNION you can not vote out the top leadership is nothing better than a "company" UNION puppet.

TWU = Control

TWU is nothing but an international manufactured puppet to Corporate America. It is there to keep you pacified and give you some illusion of control.

TWU is nothing more than a modern era form of corporate slavery.

Believe it.

I have been represented by the iam and now with the ibt. They are both identical to what the twu sounds like. Power in numbers does not necessarily mean ALL work groups together. I feel it means in ALL A&P's. Back to the original dream of ALL A&P's under one union, controlled by A&P's for the benefit of ALL A&P's.

That's only when we will have full control, when we ALL speak with one voice industry wide, including the chop shops!!

AMFA at ALL airlines!!!!!!!

I've had IAM for 11 years,Teamsters 5years and the the TWU for 3years... IAM is The Best of the 3. Teamsters were ok. TWU was The Worst Union....IAM has a great Pension plan something to think about...Talk to the ExTWAers. They will tell you how great the IAM is over the TWU. AMFA I don't trust.

when i was twa amt just about everyone i knew couldnt stand the iam. but after aa took us over and i got a taste of the twu i was crying for the iam back. i have never seen such a spineless union. my parents were teamsters and now they are better off retired then when they were working.

While the process plays out we all need to switch to agency fee.!!!!!!

And then you lose your right ot vote on anything.
If this crap passes we will have nothing to vote on for 6 years. And you can't vote little out on his arse and I haven't seen our local president since he got elected. (Not even at meetings) so I wont need to vote again till we have representation.
