I believe the man for the job is none other than the whining wielder-Dave Stewart.
He has proven he has what it takes to stand up to the company. He stood up many times to the incumbant union and the company during the AMFA drive. The company attempted to deny the AMFA supporters the right to distribute and found themselves involved in a lawsuit that cost them hundreds of thousands. Eventually the company chose to settle out of court before many of their management members would have to go through the embarrassing deposition process and chose to give the AMFA supporters (led by Dave Stewart)what they were required to give them by law the ability to distribute information throughout the base.
When Dave headed the AMFA drive he ran the organization effectively and more important democratically. He started with nothing and built the drive into something that in the end the company and the incumbant union had to depend on the aid of trickery and then the federal government to prevent a vote of the membership over union representation.
Dave has proven he will represent the membership rather than self interests or the company. He is a man of principle.
If we were to vote in Dave the company would not be very happy, the TWU would not be very happy, but the membership would. We would finally have somebody who puts the membership first.
