Wich Union Will .....

Yes PEACE on Earth And To ALL of US, Technitians. Our Main Concern should Be Focused on The Industry not Devouring each other. We need to Unite Not Divide What is the Answer? I do not Know.Let The Contracts Be Shown and Remember We Will All Have New Contracts Before this is all Said And Done. MWW.

"The Company may outsource all 757, 767, and A330 maintenance" this is certainly a fact to celebrate.
😳 If they can find other facilities, that are not over booked, they will send every aircraft out to be overhauled. It is the way of the future.........
dude in neg's the companys goal was 100% outsource of all heavy maintenance so what IAM held in house was and is a victory.they wanted some 500-700 system wide mech's with 'c' checks as the standard.
so you tell me what price is victory?

🙁 I like to look at them (iam) as the last fat chick at the bar on ladies night, someone's going to take her home, and guess what, she is ours!!
evil you know what they about bangin' fat chicks... . its fun until your buddy's find out....

The question was how many mechanics perform Heavy mtc not line.

So how many HP mechanics overhaul your A/C?

We have 1,000 base mechanics and 900 line mechanics, approximately

An S-check is the term used for the overhaul of a A320 family Aircraft and the Q-Check it the term for the overhaul of the 737 aircraft, see if you at HP actually did them in-house you would know what the terms mean.

if you actually did work then you would know that we did our own c-checks and d-checks until bill franke gave such a nice christmas present out in 95 to try and stop a union vote. our heavy checks are still c and d checks its just what your mx program calls them. you know 700 with every new comment you make the farther down the hole you fall.

I do work, sorry to burst your bubble and like I said for over ten years your heavy maintenance has been farmed out. And up until the last bankruptcy US overhauled every fleet type in-house.

Like I said how many HP mechanics perform heavy mtc?

Is that too hard of a question to answer?

Aaaah.......Mr. 700...................the question has been answered several times. There are no heavy checks done in PHX by HP or LCC mtc. The heavy checks were outsourced before the IBT was voted in. A well executed plan by bill franke in 1995.

Yes, you do work. Are you in aircraft maintenance (hands on maintenance)? No.

"And up until the last bankruptcy US overhauled every fleet type in-house" Ok......why did you lose those overhaul jobs after the last bankruptcy?

The Road We Could All Be Faced with is The road That the Mx Tech's @ NWA are dealing with if we Do Not Get organized and UNITED Stop this Fighting Between our self's and Get All Of Our UNIONs Together and Fight This in a Mature Way Like the EU Unions In France,Germany & The UK.They Are United NOT divided. We Could all Be Looking For Work Like The NWA MX Tech's We Need to Make Sure this Airline SURVIVES.Lets Concure our Pride, suck it up and Make The AWA / US Airways Thing work. MWW

I agree dell, it was a victory to hang on to any heavy checks.

because faced with the companies intention of 100% outsource IAM fought and kept it to the newer more modern aircraft as opposed to the aging fleet of misellaneous boeings for the most part.
do you realize in neg's not everyone on both sides gets what they want but work to achieve some type of commonality to move forward.thus if the company wanted 100% i'd say its a win.IBT would too.

Wow,

Guess you can't figure out that the IAM and US could not reach an agreement and voted on a final offer, it is called concessions, and since the Mechanic and Related had all ready given two rounds of concessions in the first bankruptcy the only thing left was scope and jobs.

Since no agreement was reached the Judge abrogated the contract, to keep labor peace the company came out with a final offer for the membership to vote on. The membership ratified the final offer which enabled the company to outsource the 757, 767, A330 and 50% of the 737s.

See if you were at US you would understand that, go ask ALPA, AFA, CWA and TWU why they gave up jobs also.

Sorry to burst you bubble but I do work hands on in the maintenance department, and LCC/East does heavy checks.

what you mean?

There are a few posters on here who know what I do and where I work.

As Phantom Fixer said, I do not have to out myself and I won't if you all are not smart enough to figure out my classification, then that is on you.

And if this is a message board not a chat room, and if you look at the times of my post you will clearly see over an eight hour time period when I don't post.

And you IBT people are the ones trying to cause disunity, not I.

And the topic is Which Union Will it be, not who is 700UW.

It will happen MWW. All this may not seem constructive to you but it is. Venting.....first step........realizing others are going through the same thing.......second step.........finding common ground.............third step............realizing what needs to be done..........a continuous jounrney. The steps may be different for everyone but they eventually reach the same goal.

I agree dell........I agree. Moving forward is always a good thing.
🙂

and so i have a queerie:
lets say a runoff has come and gone....IBT gets in the driver seat......will the ex IAM at U step up to the task and roll up their sleeves and work as IBT to further the goals and ideals they worked so hard for ?
or will they cower in the corner licking their wounds?
