WILL YOU VOTE TO STAY WITH THE TWU IF THERE IS A MERGER?

Why expose our feelings or create TWU International fear that might change the outcome?

I would suggest we let this play out and express our opinions with signed cards or vote our opinions on a ballot that might actually lead to change rather than expose anything here.

This website has become a great source for company and union to know our feelings and strategies. Just log on a view everyone's opinions from the comfort of your keyboard.

Pathetic

In fact I am going to start answering these polls the exact opposite of my true thoughts for good measure.

If acquired by USAir..won't we be IAM?

Arent they saying merger? not acquired? Not that that has anything to do with IAM, but though a merger was different then being acquired. Wouuldnt the seniority lists be handled differently?

No matter how the two airlines are combined, a vote would be held to determine which union would represent the workgroups. As for seniority list integration, arbitration would probably be used (AA pilots and TWU used arbitration when TWA was acquired).

Given the widespread dislike for the TWU, I assume there's a strong chance that the IAM might win a vote of the AA mechanics. The pilots would obviously be represented by the APA (USAPA would have no chance) and the FAs would be represented by the APFA based on sheer numbers of AA FAs.

Wouldn't the IAM go out of their way to offer management concessions? Maybe TWU wouldn't be so bad.

A merger is an acquisition made up of two entities, a buyer and a buyee , AA being the buyee I don't believe you will get a chance to vote on anything. Welcome back to the IAM all the X TWA folks!

twu mech. to become iam

fleet service usair to become twu

<_< ------- Now that's an interesting twist! I wonder if the exTWA people could just dust off their old cards and continue on without any monetary consequencesces? ( reinstatement fees) After all the IAM withdrew from us, not the other way around!

Perfect opportunity to put AMFA on the ballot.

AAers should get the same choice TWAers got when they were ( acquired ). B)

If memory serves there was no representation election based on the fact there were 12,000 AA FSC's and less than 4,000 TWA Ramp Service employees at the time.Numbers carried the day.
