Wisconsin and Minnesota: A One-Sided Political Competition

I'm sorry, but did I miss the part where the right to vote in a union was in question?

Dayton's statement has nothing to do with RTW.
From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Gubernatorial candidate acknowledges alcoholic relapse and treatment for depression, but says details are "private."  Mark Dayton confirmed Sunday that he has long been medicated for depression. A recovering alcoholic, Dayton also said he relapsed before the end of his Senate term

If Obama got "Stuck" with all of Bush's problems and uses it for an excuse then could it also be said that Dayton got "Stuck" with Governor Pawlenty's robust economy?

You should post how the unions want to change the rules for organizing so they can get around lack of interest and 'get in'.

Or that one where you give up your private ballot? You know for harassment purposes?

Yeah, didn't want to drag Card Check into this as well, but you've got a good point on the hypocrisy there...

If you're gonna have one, you might as well have the other. Not sure I would prefer the free-for-all Sparrow alluded to, but a little balance would go a long way...

Card check with RTW may indeed be a fair balance

-- those who want representation can have it, provided they have 50%+1
-- those who don't can always opt out
-- everyone hired at a later date gets to choose their path

Nothing says worker friendly like moving your company. They were probably Vikings fans, so no great loss.

So much for those 250k jobs Walker promised his constituency...

BTW, Ryan doesn't get a pass, either; his district's been a socioeconomic wasteland for years...
Someone didn't read past the headlines:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Unemployment rates are up in every Wisconsin county and major city.

The state Department of Workforce Development reported the figures for January.

The show unemployment increases across the board for the month. The figures are preliminary and subject to significant revision month-to-month.

Racine had the highest unemployment rate for the month at 8.1 percent, up from 7.5 percent in December. Milwaukee was second highest at 7.4 percent.

Menominee County had the highest unemployment for any county at 11 percent.

The statewide unemployment rate for January was 5 percent, the lowest it's been since August 2008.
The national unemployment rate in December was 5.7 percent.

If the last point is true, then no, the unemployment rate can't possibly be up in every county.

Up in the metro areas? Absolutely, but who controls Milwaukee and Kenosha Counties?

Ryan's district is still feeling the loss of the GM plant, something again that wasn't exactly in anyone's control except for GM.

Maybe with RTW, GM would still be open.
