Everyone knew this was going to happen sooner or later. No one can beat US in Philly. US is stronger then ever even Gordon Bethune stated in Airways June issue that USAirways is a very big time competitor now as are the other airlines. they went through bankruptcy lower costs and now Wn pays the same for fuel like the rest of us as Wn hedging is now over. New playing field

How many mainline flights has US cut in the last six years?

Seriously, US has dropped probably close to 100 mainline flts over the past few years. WN is dropping a mere 3 flts
but it's the begining of the end....Southwest should operate those three flights at a loss in the name of market share.

and now Wn pays the same for fuel like the rest of us as Wn hedging is now over.

As usual, untrue.
The percentage of fuel WN purchases at a previously hedged price is down, but it is by no means "over"...

Just how long have you been in the industry that you think Usairways cares one bit about you?

Stop with the baiting and show some respect for yourself. Five years from now you will probably be serving French fries somewhere while all of us will be here at Southwest doing well.

Now get down stairs your Mom has dinner ready.

It's only a loss of 4 flights (2 destinations though) and they're adding another one to BNA, so it's only a net loss of 3. Some people are getting a little carried away...

Thanks for the balanced post.

BTW, SWA's not losing "2 destinations", just 2 non-stops. Checking on Nov. 30, SWA has 6 OAK's (3, 1 stop, no change) and 11 LAX (3, 1 stop, no change).

We're not leaving the market, we're combating Deep Vein Thrombosis!!! ooh, there's a marketing idea!!!

Suuuuuuuuurrrrrrre. PHL-PIT-CAK-IND-MDW-MCI-OKC-LBB-MAF-SAT-ABQ-PHX-BUR. That sure gets you to the "LA" area.

Ding Dong Airways is becoming the carpooling mom. Load all the kids in the neighborhood and stop by as many places while away. That will be a big hit with the business traveler!

I don't normally respond to trolls, but I have some extra time on my hands.

You're an idiot.

to the person who asked how long ive been around ive been around with US for 32 years as long as WN as been around thats when Wn was only flying in Texas how old are you 20 The city of PHL made a committment to WN in PHL when US went into the 2nd bankruptcy that WN would rule PHL it did not happen there is no such thing as a 20 minute turn in PHL its called a 5 hour ATC delay just to get there ... you can go to Iceland in that time you would know you codehsare Icelandir from BWI and also WN fuel hedging is either over or about to be you need to read the news the cutbacks in PHL and the holdbacks of aircraft come from WN management not from the competitors whats big time news is that in NOV WN ELIMINATES PHL-LAX service obviously thats big for WN. US can eliminate 100 flights thats a drop in the bucket since US operates over 500 flights per day and OWNS PHL... WN go home to places where they LUV you in PHL we dont LUV you because if they did you would not be cutting back service.. have a LUVLLY DAY.... at US we always say PHILLY ROCKS

I'll ask you again... How many mainline flights has US cut in the last six years out of PHL?
