American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

BTW Crema another area I just can’t wrap myself around is allowing Management to direct the workforce. Yes I do understand that ultimately they own the car but they just can’t drive it.

Here in MIA they’ve been on a tear hiring CSM’s. Don’t get me wrong they seem like nice enough people but they are absolutely clueless. Plus when it comes to paying attention to the details they don’t care. They’re hired automatons all walking around with clip boards. Semi clueless drones.

I can’t see them earning any respect from the workforce like the old school Supervisors used to have.

yes..some of these people. former envoy or working dairy queen one day, aa supervisor the next day. an american success story.

some are coasting. i was on a crew that worked iberia and the former envoy employee who became an aa supervisor, didn't know that iberia flew an airbus.

it says it right on the fuselage. a waste of $55k and benefits a year.

another supervisor seems more interested in giving rides across to female ticket agents than spending time in his actual work area he had to supervise.

ridiculous stuff. i've never seen aa this bad, operationally.

agreed. if the company doesn't want to share right now, they will never share, only take. they are shameless, the NMB people have to be giggling.

that's why i had brought up arbitration. i understand that both parties have to to agree to it, and that may never happen. if they did, i understand and accept work will be gone, but the company will be opened up for profit sharing.

the one thing about arbitration, if accepted...if i were a union big-shooter, i would tell some of the top aa brass that you may lose your gig with aa...when the BOD realizes that you opened up aa to losing $350 million a year in profit sharing to assoc. members, when all it would have taken was adding $100 million a year in health insurance and sweeteners for a 5-6 year deal.
I agree with you 100%

. This sounds like Clt they hired a few off the ramp all who sucked as agents and / or Cc some off the street they hired all share the same quality useless as tits on a boar hog

Pretty discouraging news filtering out of negotiations. The company has no intention of getting serious in getting to a deal.

Yep, sounds like they are pretty useless. We are going to have to make it happen. SWA just showed the way. The company will only respond to real pressure. Canceled and delayed flights are the only thing they understand. I`m really disappointed in some of the guys I work with. after all that has gone on. Knowing the company is just sitting back laughing. I still see guys going above and beyond to move metal and suck up to company crew chiefs and management. Really disappointed.

Same exact playbook as us hog. You guys will be in the very same boat we were. If nobody does any moving (like us in past) you too will go 6-7 years. Are you guys gonna want to do that?
Mediators do nothing to speed up nego's they are simply there for as long as they can be there while they still get paid. They in fact do not encourage either side to move either way. They are there to simply observe. Our mediator has sat on ours for years, so why did we even go with mediation? I can tell you why, the companies favor mediation as they know they will not be able to meet as often since the mediators have other mediations to deal with, and now it will take 5 different parties to set dates to meet, company, union, mediator, co. attorney's and union attorney's and as in our case an expert economist as well. Much harder to get all 5 or 6 parties to clear their calendars all at the same time. The companies know mediation is just a legal way textend and drag out. So buckle up guys, you will be at it just as long as we were (are) if things keep going as is.
The asso. needs to wise up at the table and start taking control of nego's instead of letting the co. run them.

The current negotiations are worthless. The company is stalling and complete waste of our unions time and money. Enough brother and sisters! Park the aircraft and slow down at work. No road trips or OT. Parker could careless about you and your families. I’ve known Doug for 30 years and he is full of crap. Isom should be selling cars at a used car lot. Best BS artist. Wake up unio members!!!!!

there are some good ones...but yes, some are purely and openly coasting. they don't want to be bothered with ANYTHING...when in fact, that's why they were hired. this never would have occurred 20-25-30 years ago. some are so lazy they refuse to fill out OT/TLs on autota and FSCs are chasing loose ends.

i also sense that they have another round of mngt. cuts on their minds. a few talk bad about their 'competition'...and some jockeying is going on. a former lus supervisor told me last year that the cuts are over, but, maybe not.

they clearly went after laa mngt. last time. how about just going after the lazy, unproductive and uninspiring ones???

I went to see the Bagroom Manager a little while ago about a problem I want to see resolved and he asked me if I spoke to a CSM about it.

I told him I don’t speak to Subordinates and then told him why.

Don’t televise certain ideas in writing hog or they can hold it against you in the future. There are some who naively think the Companies don’t monitor these sites or that they can hide behind a handle and the Company can’t get at them.

Otherwise there are plenty of suck ups in my group too. And then the stupid idiots wonder why they don’t have a new contract yet.

People flock in droves for free Hamburgers on “Employee Appreciation” Day. Or as the Company calls it “Employee Sucker” Day.
Yeah not eating a hamburger with a manager you know for 30 years is really going to get us a contract faster.Be more creative how about dismantling the Association for starters or a least different negotiators. AMTs you have nothing to lose by restarting that card drive. To sit back do nothing is a waste cause we going to be here for years

HAD ENOUGH YET?

I heard the same thing yesterday. Neither side was moving towards each other.

So much for the involvement of the Mediators?

HAD ENOUGH YET?

What did you guys expect with the ASSociation top negotiators:
1: Gary (Bipolar) Peterson
2: Alex ( ohh is my suit wrinkle) Garcia
3. Sito (only if IAMPF included) Pantoja
