Lesson for the Young; Save early, save hard, invest if you can in real property and never, ever get tied into any sort of scheme that promises you security later for years of concessions now. Get as much value now as you possibly can, there is no such thing as investing in yourself if it means you are working for less for someone else. No such thing as security where the means to that security is out of reach, held by an employer. Never let your employer convince you to leave a penny that is yours on the table....

... TAKE EVERY DOLLAR YOU CAN GET, and move it as far away from your employer as possible, or even your Union, THAT is the only way to achieve financial security, both now and in the future.

YES YES YES!

Did they carve up the membership like spoils like the Association did?

The IAM never should have waived their contractual rights at TWA, but oh yes, that's right, TWA had convinced the IAM to buy them equipment (an engine wasn't it) and lag behind on Pension monies so rather than having their Treasury take a hit they signed off on screwing their members and hoped the TWU would just let them walk in with their seniority while they ran off with their dues. I have 1986 Seniority, my first 6 years in the Industry were just for experience, but that's how it worked, I would have had no problem allowing the EAL guys come in with their Seniority, after all they too were screwed by the IAM but they fought the good fight for all of us. TWA lingered and at best helped drag the rest of us down. They saw big raises when they got their 4/10/01 , kept all their Vacation and sick time, had a fence around KC and STL and 25% in cities where they had overlaping staff, they didnt have to start over as new hires like the guys you wanted displaced from EAL(IAM), Pan Am (TWU) and even the guys who quit TWA (IAM) . If we had given them, their seniority I would have supported giving the tWA guys theirs, but I couldn't support allowing you to displace them.

USAIR. We didn't want the merger, only Little did. To us, USAIR was "a pauper on a pony, not a Knight in shining armor'.

Bob you know I love ya but is there any chance you And Watcher can start a separate thread to talk about issues ad nauseam infinitum?

Or maybe a scheduled debate at a College campus would be interesting?

BTW to the kids reading these subjects you sound like old farts talking about the days you walked 3 miles to school and visited soup kitchens on the weekend.

Ok

And you’ve never gone off topic?

Yes and we were both warned by the moderator on the SWA Forum. Reading your statements , if people here do not tow the IAM line, then you will argue them to the death or cyber bully until you think you win.
Your WeAAsles now or his Spokesperson?

Weez can certainly speak for himself, let him.

Discussing financial information or how the CWA/IBT Association’s history and how it compares to the IAM/TWU Association has zero to do with towing an “IAM LINE”.

Yes Weazz can speak for himself, I was just commenting on how you operate, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. You are worried about eventually losing out to the TWU outvoting you, or if you ever go to one union and the IAM loses out.

Yes they did.

East of the Mississippi is CWA represented.

West of the Mississippi is IBT represented.

AA forced all unions on TW property to give up LPPs or the deal was off.

Also William O’Driscoll was in Negotiations with a wealthy hedge fund to purchase TW but ran out of time when AA forced the issue.

The master of misinformation is back again.

Are you that obtuse?

AUS, DFW, IAH, MCI, SAT, STL and the SRO are all CWA stations.

Look at a map and they’re west of the Mississippi River.

Don’t let the facts get in your way!

The IAM has had moments in their History where they’ve sucked.
The IBT has had moments in their History where they’ve sucked.
The AMFA has had moments in their History where they’ve sucked.
The TWU has had moments in their History where they’ve sucked.
The (Insert Union here) has had moments in their History where they’ve sucked.

What they ALL ALL ALL have in common is that they had people in charge at the time that had their backs to the wall or were just way more stupid or greedy than people actually realized.

Oh and all Unions are still just acronyms with 3 or more letters. Some with very smart Membership behind them and some with very stupid Members.

No union has done more to destroy the proud middle class careers of airline workers than the IAMAW. The IAM has never met a concession they didn’t like and ultimately wage a “vote yes” campaign on. Multiple carriers have gone belly up thanks to the IAM causing thousands to be out of jobs.
