Contacted both, in writing, awhile ago. No response from either. Mailed letter certified. Have contacted my AGC so many times I've lost track. Also have others on the District E Board question the status at previous E Board meetings.

I have reached out to a few of my higher up contacts, I will be in touch with them later today as they are traveling to an assignment.

P. Rez,
What will the NC response be to a proposal like at AS that allows outsourcing at hubs or UA with only scope for seven stations? Sito Pantoja said those were both great agreements he is proud of, will the IAM agree to those terms at US? The TWU agreements at AA and WN are superior to IAM agreements although that isn't saying much.

Josh
Josh,

At some point this NC will have to make a decision on whether a TA is acceptable. We will, as a collective group, make this decision based on what we think not what INTL thinks.

I have a real problem with this line of negotiating...

"The arbitrator directed the airline Thursday to begin talks with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union to reach a remedy. If they can't agree, the case will go back to the arbitrator.

Today's ruling solidifies the fact that there are job protections."
Alaska's contract with the union allowed the airline to outsource jobs to a vendor only if doing so reduced costs. The arbitrator ruled that despite the lower wages paid by Menzies, the overall charges were not less than the work done in-house.

Many of the workers who lost their jobs in 2005 accepted an Alaska Air severance package, which Gordon acknowledged was "above and beyond the contracted requirements." They have since scattered to jobs elsewhere.

Who the hell negotiated some language like that on the dues payers monthly dues $$. ??????????

Pat,

Lets all just start ignoring him, dont you think its odd that a "JP Morgan" employee is so wrapped up about the IAM?

Something is rotten in Denmark.

Mike,

I didnt write the award, nor was I part of it, I am just reporting what transpired.  But the arbiter ruled in that it wasnt cheaper using a vendor.

why ?...because they lost more and damaged more bags???   Thats not the way to negotiate a contract. That language is a setup for failure

Set up for failure?

Well they won the arbitration, yes the jobs didnt come back, but the language was tested and won by the IAM.

And a lot of CBAs have economic language UA has it also.

Yes setup for failure !!!!!!!!  Thats gambling language and 50/50 is a setup for failure...  and the ones who paid dues still haven't gotten their jobs back. Winning the arbitration didn't mean anything.......

 I'll leave it at that!!

And you aren't getting paid?  Gosh you love fleet service don't you?  I mean you will spend most of your time on these forums and in our issues even though you claim you don't get paid by the IAM nor are a IAM member nor work for any airline?  I think few of us believe you. Most of us believe you are on here for the establishment damage control.   BTW,  menzies is still working SEA ramp.  Why do you keep avoiding that?

If the language doesn't ultimately protect jobs what value does it really add? Wasn't it the same outcome for the Airbus arbitration? IAM won a good sum on money but the work never came back

What you did was defraud the members by saying that the IAM won the grievance to protect the work.  You have been 'found out' again and now folks know the truth once again and that the IAM members only won a few more weeks of severance pay.  And you and the IAM claim victory!!!   No wonder why Sito says AS contract and UA contract is great and a reflection of how solid his leadership is.  LMAO
