If the language doesn't ultimately protect jobs what value does it really add? Wasn't it the same outcome for the Airbus arbitration? IAM won a good sum on money but the work never came back

Josh
Josh,
they don't care about the human beings.   The IAM142 even agreed to a new contract at AS that forever pimped off those who got their jobs stolen from them by menzies.  700 never takes responsibility, even when he was too naïve to realize that he contracted out his own job and destroyed his entire craft.  He finally told folks to vote no but it was too late.  Then, didn't he get fired for pimping the union's funds off the company clock and busted by the airline?  Did 700 ever answer what happened to those alleged funds or why the IAM didn't arbitrate his firing?  Are we to believe that 700 is collecting unemployment funds off of Obama and also expecting us to think his 'contacts' within the higher ups are pulling strings for fleet, due to 700, will get Robbedagain's grievance settled?  700 is such a nice guy to 'be right there' for fleet service and to spend all of his time freely to get 'fleet service in order'.  Wow!  What a Godsend!

Tim,

It is funny how you attack 700 but talk to Josh like he is your buddy. Many on here are suspicious of Josh and why a banker is so interested in us but because he hammers IAM you back him. What gives? At least we know 700 was a part of IAM and it seems to me that he has lots of knowledge on past history. Also, I think 700 generally cares about IAM members where I think Josh hates the IAM and I don't think he cares about any of us. Why are you so friendly with him?

Nope not getting paid, I don't work for the IAM. As a matter of fact I got a text message from a furloughed utility who has an upgrade in for stores. A question was asked about an LOA, gave her what I thought, called the CLT Committee and confirmed what she wanted to know, and texted her back so she would know the answer. Not avoiding it, I posted exactly what happened and in the info I posted it stated that the jobs didnt come back, come on Tim you can do better than that.

And Tim, our CBA was abrogated, and I have posted it and explained it many times to you, do I need to again?

Abrogated means we never reached a deal, and when I left US I wasnt Utility, I was stores, so try again.

Sorry Uncle Sam doesnt pay me nor do I collect unemployment, your treading a thin line, shall I pursue action on you?  Slander on the Internet is a civil offense.

And typical, you attack when you are shown to be wrong, you cant refute so you attack and insult.

I have a real problem with this line of negotiating...

"The arbitrator directed the airline Thursday to begin talks with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union to reach a remedy. If they can't agree, the case will go back to the arbitrator.

Today's ruling solidifies the fact that there are job protections."
Alaska's contract with the union allowed the airline to outsource jobs to a vendor only if doing so reduced costs. The arbitrator ruled that despite the lower wages paid by Menzies, the overall charges were not less than the work done in-house.

Many of the workers who lost their jobs in 2005 accepted an Alaska Air severance package, which Gordon acknowledged was "above and beyond the contracted requirements." They have since scattered to jobs elsewhere.

Who the hell negotiated some language like that on the dues payers monthly dues $$. ??????????
There are many points i look for in a contract regarding SCOPE.  I have just upgraded scope language review

Imo the usairways members are more educated on scope because they been screwed over by it. Imo the only thing that trumps scope for a majority of workers has been money. Money talks and is used as bait for job elimination. Phx las lax and all the class two stations (except ord) stacked up against clt phl in the last vote because of $5 pay increases. The class two pay really divided the union and canale had every right to be booted.

Tim  i do think ord is just one of a  number of class 2 cities  bwi  atl mco fll mia? i believe fall under class 2

I hear ya. My point was that ord was the only class two station that i heard voted no. The previous postings on here, from my recollection also had all class one stations vote no except phl clt tpa.

the rumor i had heard was that phl was no but dca n clt were yes but its been so long ago i dont remember to be honest.

Clt and phl were strong no. I think it was all posted on this site.

i have heard bwi was also a no vote  but did hear dca was a  yes vote

Clt and phl were both strong No,s. The problem in both those cities, we didn't have that many show up. 600+ no to 20+ yes was the count out of clt. But considering there are 1300 of us here, I didn't think it was a good enough turn out for a contract vote. Phl had even a less percentage than clt did. That's what hurt us.

Brother/Sisters it's 2014 . We work for the # 1 Air Carrier AAL making $money$ hand over fist. One thing that hasn't changed is 6 LCC/AAL Stations will decide ALL ! IAM F/S  Members fate/future. The ? is what will the NC and Leadership at D-141 agree to in a TA/ CBA in 2014 ? The fate of  LCC IAM FS Members in the other 30 stations don't control their future and will wait/see what happens going forward when the voting starts. We can only hope not to be hoodwinked or sold out with greed from our own Union Membership ?

I have reached out to a few of my higher up contacts, I will be in touch with them later today as they are traveling to an assignment.
Appreciate any assistance you can provide. It's a shame respectable representation requires such prodding.

Given that you go by an anonymous handle, and Tim did not identify you by name, you'd have a very difficult case in proving what he's said here about you has caused you material or emotional harm significant enough to warrant court action, let alone a ruling in your favor.  Making things up about anonymous people on the internet is not a civil offense, and I'm guessing the reason you keep threatening legal action without taking it is because you already know this.

Orgac I got to the point where ill send frank a text once in a while and I pm one of the members on here who I met last april in phx im just waiting it sure is frustratin personelly it should never take this long
This level of representation is unacceptable. The time will come when FO is up for election again. Hopefully, he has plans for retirement. Come June 2014 he has two years and counting. It must be duly noted FO's level of dedication to the membership should not be viewed as testimony to the entire "New Direction" Team. Many are striving for the best interests of the membership. Every cart has a few bad apples I suppose. Unfortunately, this bad apple has much to do with arbitration cases involving the membership. If the district was wise they would put him on the bench; if not remove him from office.
