robb,

Just an opinion, obviously, but I hope I'm wrong too. At AA, we do not do our own catering. As for restocking the plane for cups, blankets etc...we call that cabin service and that was outsourced system wide on our BK contract. They also wanted cargo, but a deal was struck where we were able to keep five stations (DFW, LAX, ORD, MIA, JFK). Mail was also outsourced system wide.

Catering brings the food, ice, drinks, cups, etc... at US, pillows, blankets etc is outsourced to a vendor who cleans the planes.

US only serves meals in FC on a small handful of domestic flights and the meals are far below even what AA, DL, or UA serve in terms of quality and variety. And the buy on board for main cabin looks terrible, especially compared to what AS, DL or VX offer for sale.

Nope just flown with many top airlines. Rarely eat on domestic flights usually bring my own meal or eat before I leave home/work/hotel.

US only has its own "catering" meaning bring the supplies back and forth to the planes at CLT, PHL and not sure if any other stations have it still.

Can anyone add to the list?

And US all ready has cut mail and freight almost everywhere.

US wanted Catering back in the 2004/2005 Chapter 11, PHL reps wouldnt budge, thats why there was so many cuts in other areas.

We also do catering in DC & Pit. However I believe Pit was down to only on or two trucks due to all the cuts the last few years there.

The way I see it... Catering can only go away if the company and union both agree to it. Catering is currently contractually protected in several hub stations, including CLT and PHL. Any new agreements would have to strike that language to eliminate Catering.

I know CB can't comment but I'm sure the company would like to get catering as well as freight at AA. To me both shoudn't even be on the table.

You do realize they are negotiating for the US employees only, nothing to do with AA, they have their own CBA.

*BINGO*

Same story with the Tower and any of the other functions that have been discussed on here of late.

If AH & Co. want these classifications gone so bad, the NC needs to at least make 'em work for it.

Well, let’s put this way... Catering is scope. If at any point it’s lost for whatever reason weather it is at US under an US/AA transition.... or just plain straight US section 6... it’s still lost scope!
