UnitedWeStand,

We asked to be released 8 months ago which must be preceded by the proffer of arbitration by the NMB to the Union and the Company and rejected by one or both beffore being released by the NMB to a 30 day cooling off period. We have been waiting for that proffer. We have been in mediated talks for well over a year. Hope this clarifies?

8 months ago the District posted this:

http://www.iam141.org/docs/061113.pdf

First paragraph states:
"Rich Delaney, June 11, 2013: Today, June 11, 2013, the IAM filed a request with the
National Mediation Board for a proffer of arbitration in our ongoing negotiations with US Airways on behalf of our Fleet Service membership.

P.REZ, it is clear to me that someone doesn't know what is going on.

UnitedWeStand,

That is how you ask to be released from Mediations to a 30 day cooling off period is to ask for the proffer of arbitration. The NMB has not done anything to this point.

There has been talk of a release eight months ago like P.Rez has stated, if you havent begun to get our house in order, you better start now.

We were prepared in 92 when we went out, and we did, so if it takes a strike to get you a CBA, better be prepared to do it.

Get a union plus credit card and transfer your balances, they let you skip payments due to a strike.

Call your lenders and see if they is a grace period like a one month skip payments, you will be surprised that most companies will work with you.

The IAM has been down this road before, its time for the members to take this advice and warnings and be prepared, Doug and Al dont respect you, show them you mean business.
What will Roach and Buffy do to support the membership? Will they continue slurping their salaries? Will the Lear pay a visit to CLT?

Josh

You dont even deserve a reply, so have a nice day.

And as they down South, "Bless Yer Heart"

That is a reply now isn't it? All I did was ask a reasonable question. Didnt' Sito pay a visit to PIT for M&R? Why not visit the fleet members?

Josh

When he came to CLT he visited with all three IAM represented groups.

Will they be visiting BOS or do they similarly neglect small stations?

Robbed,

Unfortunately, I think Mgt knows many people are living paycheck to paycheck, regardless that they are no longer earning less than $10/hour as with the old America West days.  The more one makes, the more one spends.  I see these guys in PHX making big dollar commitments to major purchases even while the future of PHX is unknown and there are rumors of a strike.  Are those people going to say that they couldn't afford to strike so they scab instead?

If it does come down to a strike in all likelihood it would only last for a couple days.  Most people can swing that or work a sat prior, ect.

When we went on strike as M&R in 1992 we were out for five days, voted on the sixth day and returned to work on the seventh day.

Memorandum of Understanding - Station Classification 25 Feb 2014: Download

Today, February 25, 2014, District 141 and US Airways reached an understanding regarding the status of our Recognition and Scope language. Our current contract allows for an annual snap shop of each of our stations to determine the level of flight activity and assess whether or not that station could be outsourced. This snap shot is taken every April 5th.

In April 2013, during contract negotiations discussions with US Airways, we agreed to Memorandum of Understanding that kept fleet service staffing levels stable during the expected period of time it would take to reach a replacement Collective Bargaining Agreement. The MOU also allowed for the snap shot process to resume on April 5, 2014.

Since we have not been successful in reaching a full replacement agreement as of today’s date, the IAM and US Airways have agreed to extend the understanding reached last year until April 4, 2015. The Company has agreed it will not outsource ramp work covered by our contract at any station currently served by IAM represented Fleet Service Employees during this period.

It is our hope and expectation that a full agreement that will address this and all outstanding issues will be promptly negotiated and reached before the expiration of this continued MOU. If not, members in all current stations will remain under the terms of the MOU.

what's to research? what you have is an airline who views their employees as assets as opposed to AA/US where they are viewed as a liability.
