kindly let us know who yrashed the iam as opposed to the anti union leaders who havent really done a damn thing? If u r happy and think u r getting your dues worth then vote in the incumbants and you can guarantee nothing will change. But if you are like most members and realize your not getting your dues worth then you have no hope but to vote for change. This union is truly dying and at the crossroads. Either the members do what they have to do to make necessary changes or buffenbarger will continue to do his best imitation of lorenzo.
If ANYONE votes for you they're nuts. Who can't see that you're NOT a Union man. You have an extreme hatred for them all. You would do everything in your power to destroy them. It's a vendetta for you. They closed your station that you loved and came from and you intend to destroy them for it. You're an angry bitter little human being who has hatred beyond description. I'm beginning to wonder if you're supported by the company. The amount of time you spend being able to post on here doesn't compute. I have to work the job that the company pays me for. I wonder if you're doing the same on here?

You're the most anti Union person that I've ever heard in my life.

Class 1 station, which includes all hubs as well, is any station above a certain flight threshold.  Off the top of my head I think it's FLL, TPA, MCO, CLT, PHL, DCA, BOS, LGA, LAS, PHX.  May be another couple.  Not sure if FLL, MCO, TPA are still class 1 but I believe so. Everything else is class 2.

Ok, let's start off the day on a note of postivity. What can we do to make this union better for the employees of US. What would the members consider more bang for the buck.
Personally, I would like more face time with my AGC, more adversity towards the company, One reason the company doesn't take the NC for face value is because the IAM won't flex it's muscle..............remember during the organizing campaign, the " strength in numbers" slogan. 141 and 142 should be aligning for a push to get a decent contract. Together we are stronger than alone.
Anything that fosters unity amongst the members is good. That may be at the station level, or the system level. Personally, I would couple that with doing all I could to do away with the "I'm just a ramper" mindset. We're professionals, and as I've noted on here before, we create value.

My last GC before we lost our representation vote was truly great. Swung through a lot, responded to calls/emails w/in a couple of hours, and so on. Intentional or not, it had a huge effect on us.

As for "working safe," that's not something "those union guys" do, that's something we ALL should be doing everyday. We all deserve to go home in the same physical condition we came in. As a crew chief, I hate that guy that's constantly in a hurry. I'm all for efficiency, but it's a fine line between that & recklessness, ya know?

I trust that you are already working safe, etc.

Now, let’s examine your philosophy-- A concerted, sanctioned effort by ANY bargaining unit to interfere with operations outside of the Railway Labor Act, can result in a legal case being brought against that bargaining unit. This has already happened right under your nose with the Pilot Group. They were sued by US in 2011 for illegally participating in a work action allegedly cloaked as a safety campaign... and they LOST! This cost every single Pilot dearly in legal expenses, which could have gone toward getting a fair agreement.

That is why you will never see ANY Union launch a work action until it’s completely LEGAL per Federal Law. If not... they could lose their financial assets, and the represented group would be adversely affected in the long term!

Lawyers, Courts, and Federal Agencies are more involved today than was during the Vince Hickman years thanks to Corporate Lobbyist..That era is gone, and it will not return under the same circumstances today, or in the future, even if Nelson was running things!

Please review the USAPA  (Pilots) case HERE and HERE
Yeah, well, know the rules so you can bend them properly, I guess...

That’s correct Harry... there ARE things Members can do “legally” within Federal Laws...

Members are not contractually obligated to sign up for OT for instance-- However, in times like this, only a few will actually follow through by not signing up. This makes Rockit’s ideology impractical, if not impossible to implement with any actual significance!
When did you become so defeated? I'm not tryin' to bust balls here, but lately all I read from you is reason why things won't work. Truth is, refusing OT is one of the easiest ways to "get noticed." And even one guy politely declining has a much larger-and quicker- potential impact than any other related item. That's not even mentioning working it while people are furloughed...

Another problem that roabillys anti unionist negotiated in the united contract was an open ended clause on wages and benefits. Thus management has taken advantage of this gift and has initially targeted the closing of 45 stations over the next 6 months in 3 waves of 15. The first 15 were announce last week and includes clt.
The union contract forces the union to outbid swissport and then if it is successful then it may reduce wages substantually sorta how class 2 pay was in bankruptcy.
This is like an aviation version of the Shock Doctrine. 🙁

I'll say this, I'm going to vote in the upcoming election. My AGC is not up for re-election but when he is I will vote for another candidate. Like I said this morning, station visits are a must, if you can't stay in touch with the membership your out. I know there are times you have to be at the district office for bussiness and corporate for greviences but they get paid a very high salary and to set at home is ridiculous. There should be a staffed office at all the hubs and manned, there is enough work there to require it, also when visiting the line stations you have nonstops for one day out and backs. Realignment of the AGC's coverage would also help with their time schedule, why should a guy in clt fly to sea when you have an agc in phx who could work it. Save the district money instead of perdiems.
The agc's should be fire storming for a high turnout for a strike vote. fan the flames brothers and sisters. For you WeAAsle, you are very critical as a new comer who is making about two bucks mor than any of US.

He has a good point Tim, you post consistently throughout the day and night, EVERY day, 24/7... how do you accomplish this and work the ramp in ORD? Do they let you use a PC at work?

You seem to be very critical of my $2? I guess that you don't understand the concept of total compensation? Either that or you don't care that you pay less for medical, have more holidays paid at double time, have an accumulating pension and by percentage more jobs and more stations than we do? As Timmy keeps trying to tell you, there is a price to be paid for that higher wage. Oh I forgot don't you still have retiree medical too? Hmmmm

I don't think so. I read things. Besides that you didn't corner the market on concessions and givebacks there buddy. You're preaching to the choir when it comes to what we BOTH have gone through. Sorry that you feel the need to cast your stones at me though. I'm a big boy and can take it but if we ever meet I'll buy you some tissues ok.

Everything is pretty accurate, except the retiree medical, you have to use Cobra/HTC....

The IAM is the master of concessionary agreements. How long did they feed TWA concessions? Three rounds of concessions at US, concessions at UA while they are profitable, concessions at Hawaiian Airlines, etc.

And they have leaders like Roach, William O'Driscoll and Randy Canale who say the membership is "confused" rejecting concessions through democratic vote.

TWU is far from perfect but much better than the IAM.

Thanks ROA. Too many people out there only read or care about the base wages when they make comparisons. Wish one day they could learn that a full contract has a lot of parts to it.

Yes Tim you have said the TWU is much better before when you were trying to soft soap us on FB. Funny how we were watching you say the exact opposite on this site and thought we weren't watching you. Trying to play both sides of the fence can only guarantee that your arse gets skewered in the middle you know.
