AANOTOK,
the company has taken so much off the table that it has completely jerked off the NC at this point by now only offering a 1% increase over 3 years. Same thing happened at United and this is like a bad movie I have to watch again.
Tim I can't say for certain that your claims aren't true as maybe you have an insider who has been feeding you this information. But the fact that you are running a personal campaign against those who are currently in those spots does make your credibility slightly suspect.
Can you produce any documentation verifying your claims? Otherwise it's all hearsay, rumor and innuendo solely designed to paint you in a light that may buy you a few votes by casting aspersions on the incumbents credibility.
Due to politics, the sitting leaders are asking...excuse me, demanding ultimatums that buy a tremendous amount of votes but are not possibly real in a pre-joint contract context. Initially, AMR wages and some scope were very doable but now the whole thing is blown up as Doug Parker apparently doesn't have a sense of humor for politics. I'm not saying that any offer by Parker was acceptable but each offer has more and more taken off the table as our IAM leaders dick around in politics. At United, the offer went 12%, keep free medical, some scope.....to 12%......to 10%.....to $0 and tuffa lucka we will see you in joint talks. At United, tens of thousands of other employees got signed contracts prior to joint talks EXCEPT the IAM who got goose-egged. Everyone is pissed off at management for being greedy bastards and even more greedier now than ever, and members are right to be pissed off, but polarizing talks and issuing ultimatums to management has been proven not to work at United. Sure, it buys a lot of votes since everyone wants the 15% pay raise, 3 more holidays, full sick time, extra weeks of vacation, 20% more retirement, double the scope......but it does NOTHING for negotiations other than alienate, polarize, talks.
That's what is going on.
