Scheduling arbitrations has nothing to do with arbitration outcomes. Don't forget, I worked under Delaney, and I saw how our AGC's scheduled arbitrations but never followed through. Settling before arbitration hearings is the forte of you guys. Again, how many arbitrations have been awarded in the last 4 years for US AIRWAYS members? LOL All you guys do is settle or bury grievances in the Bermuda triangle. Don't lie. Hundreds and hundreds of grievances and you are bragging about one arbitration case scheduled, which probably won't even be arbitrated and awarded. Sheesh. But of the $20,000 for arbitrations last year, I want to know how many were awarded for US AIRWAYS? 1? 2? Maybe? C'mon mannnnnnnnnP. REZ said:Tim,
Why don't you ask my GCC if he is kept in the loop regarding grievances and if he believes we have a black hole here? I constantly communicate with the GC and SS's. PHX has an arbitration scheduled this month and another will be scheduled soon. We also have 3 cases that will be heard in Mediations in March. 5 or 6 employees, maybe more have got their job back since I took office and several not terminated because of the GC and our team effort here. Many other write ups and issues resolved too. I'm not saying things are great here, but we fight this management team every day. I assure you that anyone that has ever been in a meeting with me here will attest I am not a mouthpiece for management but a mouthpiece for employees 100% of the time.

All TWU and IAM questions are done away with, with the association. The way I understand the association, the TWU will take the dues from ORD but the sUS employees in ORD will still be IAM members. So, I don't think it will matter as far as politics goes.JFK Fleet Service said:So Tim,why are you leaving ORD for CLT? At any rate, why don't you guys follow the bylaws and give all of our local chairpersons a copy of the quarterly grievance report?

Your GCC may be kept in the loop regarding outstanding greivances in PHX but I can tell you that is not the case in other stations like mine. How can you explain or justify a grievance in my station awaiting arbitration for 3 years? There are some on the DL 141 Rising Team on the US side who have failed miserably in their duty to represent. those will be held accountable in the upcoming elections in June and the elections two years from now.
Been at LGA for the past twelve years.Liked the free flowing OT so I opted to stay. One rain drop on aircraft windshield = 4 hours.cltrat said:a valid question JFK
I think you have said somewhere but are you still in JFK or somewhere else?
I for one have appreciated how you stood up for us at united. You have our respect and my vote any day of the week. Us air will have a fighter and someone with a wealth of knowledge representing them. I wish you nothing but the best my friend.Tim Nelson said:All TWU and IAM questions are done away with, with the association. I'm not from ORD and once my kids all graduated, I was OUTTA here. CLT is one of two stations I may get [both south of the mason Dixon line where it is a helluva lot warmer] but my guess is that CLT comes open first.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today announced it reached a tentative agreement on a new contract for approximately 3,000 clerical, office and passenger service employees at Alaska Airlines.
The five-year accord includes 12.3 percent in wage increases, improved job security provisions, strengthened merger protections, improved premium pay, enhanced home agent pay protections and holds the line on healthcare costs.
“I’d like to thank IAM members for their support and solidarity through this latest round of negotiations on Alaska Airlines,” said IAM District 142 President Tom Higginbotham. “I’m proud that our negotiating committee brought back a deal that provides economic and job security for IAM members at Alaska Airlines.”
The five-year deal runs through 2018. IAM District 142 is currently scheduling information meetings and unanimously recommends ratification of the tentative agreement.
Please visit the IAM District 142 website for more information.
let's see what ground workers at Alaska make and what kind of scope they have with the passenger service. The new TA apparently has wage increases that takes them close to $25 per hour base pay and added job protection, and no increase in health care cost. I'll wait till I see the TA but isn't Alaska like the 7th biggest airline?700UW said:In other news:
Tim most all stations in the Midwest and east coast are contracted, currently to DL but that is changing in a few months they will have another vendor.Tim Nelson said:let's see what ground workers at Alaska make and what kind of scope they have with the passenger service.
