They always inform the Grievance chairs first so they can help explain then the members will get the full language, before a vote.
My Grievance chair can barely comprehend the english language, that give's me a sigh of relief. But really guy's this bull crap. How many articles were affected....... scope, wage charts ( which has been posted), sick time, vacation, and what else was on the highlight sheet? Give me a break or maybe they are on vacation? Aszholse.

I know, right?  It's only a 150-pages of legal English spanning 30 articles and dictating hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation and benefits for thousands of employees.  What could possibly be time consuming about preparing that?  It only took me like 10 seconds to accept the user agreement for iTunes and these guys have had a whole week!

Being baggage handlers we're expert enough in contract law to know that the only logical reason it's taking this long is spite and laziness.  They just don't care about us.  However I'm sure if we keep stamping our feet and calling them names and whining about it on the internet they'll start working a lot faster...

Just noticed on the union bulletin board. the scope of 7 weekly mainline flts was signed of on 2-25-14 by Harbinson and delaney. A side bar agreement.

Guys I'll tell you this from some of our TWU contracts in the past. Some were rushed out I believe to the detriment of the language. We had to have multiple "Letters of memorandum" attached to the end to try and explain items and still a few were left fuzzy and never given a straight clarification.

Example: "You are not required to suspend work to avoid payment of overtime" What does something like that mean? The explanation although never in writing was they cannot send you home if they offer you a certain amount of OT and then find they don't need you. But many members took it to mean if they were engaged in a live flight that they could finish that flight and receive OT?

So what I'm saying is yes it does take time to make sure everything is correct taking into account items that members may misinterpret. And they are going to want to have it all out in one shot because that is the best way to gauge the TA as a whole, not cherry picking the highlights. It will probably include charts and graphs to make comparrisons to our contract and maybe others in the industry as well which helps in understanding the bits and pieces.

Aside from that there will probably be items in your TA that are an improvement over what is in our contract, and there will probably be items in our contract that are still better than yours? The thing will be to remember that in the future during JCB talks we will be looking to take the best parts from both and either combine them or improve on them.

Don't take it immediately as something that we should be jealous that the other has since the emphasis will be on combining the two into one strong contract that benefits all.

Do you US fleet remember the issue with the raises post amendable date?

Dont you think its better for them to look over the whole CBA, get it printed up so you see it in its entirety without mistakes?

Geez, nothing against TWU but your contract is terrible. It is a bankrupt contract and if there is anything you have in your contract that is good but not in ours then that will be sad. None of us want to be placed in another bankrupt contract, and that is what your contract is.  Your scope blows as the  TWU wiped out most stations for you, and you guys didn't even have a chance to vote on tossing your profit sharing away, whether you wanted to or not.  At least the IAM has voting rights, and if the IAM did get scope for 1 flight a day for all stations with no penalty language then it will be worth to consider voting yes on.

It may be BS to you, but honestly, your TWU contract blows, and you guys weren't even allowed to vote for big changes.  Sad indeed.  You guys are poor with terrible scope but blame your union for selling you out.  I will admit that it was a better bankrupt contract than the one that the IAM coughed up in 2003 but maybe you should focus on the TWU and trying to change some things there instead of your continual babble about how your contract is so good.  Your contract sucks dude.  And it looks like our contract is on the right path.

FANTASTIC, I hope that it's the greatest contract I've ever seen. Now go file some paperwork and keep trying to get an elected position that no one you work with wants you for.

And you have a Masters in Religious studies which does NOTHING for anyone when it comes to you being in office. It's useless and a waste of money unless you were going to be a priest. Guess the churches didn't want you either huh?

700  I totally agree with you   id rather have it looked over n over to be sure the language is cleared up  esp after we went 2 plus yrs without pay raises and gray areas in the 08 contract

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.  Geez, all the personal shots. Tsk Tsk Tsk.  You should focus on your union and trying to make it better.  Lose the anger, you will find it healthy for you.  Take your beach bod and go rip off a few miles on the beach.  Life is too short and time passes all of us by, so spend your energies focusing on your own union and trying to make it better since it may be in negotiations very shortly.

As far as me, if I lose, I gave it my best and I think it would be time for me to step aside from being a candidate, and to go back to supporting other candidates again.  If I win, then I will be humbled.  I'll find out the second week of July.  At this point, I do think I have a better chance of winning as opposed to losing though.  As far as 'paperwork', that will depend upon if the violations caused harm.  If U4C wins, then the violations didn't add up to any final harm and no DOL case would be filed.

No anger Tim. I just like taking pot shots at you sometimes. Haven't you figured that out yet? We're going to be doing this for many many years to come now. I may even transfer to FLL one day which will make me a proud IAM member?

You probably never should have came over to our FB pages and made me aware of you. You put yourself on my radar and I'm just as non stop as you.

So it's ok for you to attack, insult, lie and call other posters names, yet it's not ok when they call you out?

I wonder if a certain gentleman in PHX who pushed a table out of the way to get at Tim is still out there looking for him? What a wuss. Ran away like a little girl.
