I watched the video of the hearing. Interesting arguments by all. If you give Marty Harper and the West what they want, you might as well pack up the USAPA Merger Committee and tell them to go home. If the NIC is the only list that can be used, then what is the point of them being there?
I also thought it interesting the referral to the NIC list, with modifications, made by Mr. Harper. What modifications?

Indeed, and thus however anything currently goes; many lawyers might well expect enrichment for possibly years of litigation to come, and no one need much care in the meanwhile....outside of those essentially incarcerated in PHX. The APA has absolutely NO reason to wish for any speedy resolution, nor does the east. Both have advancements aplenty to see in the immediate and at all foreseeable future. The only "side" desperately seeking access to outside resources to exploit is PHX, and they'd insanely sue even the sun for daring to come up tomorrow...at least without some mindless rooster's crow of "Doodle Do! This is sparta!" anyway.

What's perhaps most amusing here's that the essentially insignificant little "tail" of PHX remains so sadly intent on wagging the whole "dog" of American Airlines...It's almost like watching a chihuahua yapping at a great dane, but hopelessly infantile, "spartan" arrogance still knows no bounds, it would seem.

One simply has to sometimes just sit back and laugh at it all.

"Lord, what fools these mortals be." 😉

Everything makes sense...  March 2000 ALPA letter to the editor. Fifteen (15) years later.... still asking the same question.  No answers.

Dan and his ALPO pals fell for every trick in the book. They literally caved every time and helped ruin the profession. Now those RJ jobs go begging because an entire generation decided the profession was not worth it. Thanks to people like Dan, there are barely pilots qualified to fly them. And they don't make financial sense as well. Now, Dan has a new age way of ordering seniority. One where the america west 2004 hires jump the line from Trans States and Eagle right over someone with 17 yrs service. Keep listening to Dan and his 2004 hire pals. They have it all figured. If you are smart, you will kick the thieves to the curb.
Maybe if daddy did not give him his job, he would place more value on it.

Dan and his pals at ALPO carried the company's water at every opportunity. Jerry Glass had them hanging on every word, because they couldn't figure it out for themselves.
Jerry simply cannot believe their stupidity.

Yes, that was theft.
You and your pals voted for every RJ give imaginable. You made it happen. You helped put thousands on the street, then try to screw them with the west plan .You are a spineless thief.

Yeah...but fully soaked and even saturated in "Honor" nonetheless....Just ask him...or perhaps his earlier alter ego, in the form of the appropriately, purely fictional "LT Hardy" from the movie "Striking Distance". Quotes from this board available if anyone feels the need, and have enough digestive tract anti-acid remedies at the ready, so's not to just immediately throw up....Oh welll, perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh here. After all; entirely fictional "heroes" seem to be a very popular trend among the self-styled "Spartans"/"Knights"/"Dire Wolves",even "Larry Potta" (and most disgustingly; self-fantasized-supposed "soldiers" even) sorts of the west and their sympathizers anyway....I'm only surprised that in additon to an actual west Representative's previous postings of "This is Sparta!" (cactusboy53), that no "knights" from the umm...er (I'm honestly not making this up folks. Seriously; who even could?) little Fantasyland "army of leonidas" have yet arisen shouting "I am Iron Man!"...Or perhaps even the Tooth Fairy/Easter Bunny/whatever. 😉

. The one where you take the one one thier website and "ACTUALLY" update it that shows over half the WEST pilots sitting in the top 50 percent because of the EAST pilots that have retired.

Give him a chance, maybe his "Ghost of Christmas Past" will open his eyes and make him come to his senses.

Very well put; now what happened to all the Spartan faithful - NIC4us , resjudica, fodase, and our precious little princess prechill? Oh yea, and my favorite of all time Nicelandingcaptain?
Speaking of arrogant fools.........
2000 Airline Conference:
"Hi! My name is Dan. My airline absolutely needs regional jets. They are necessary for feed. Mike Tosi and Jerry Glass told me so. Of course I will not have to lose my job when they replace thousands of my fellow pilots. "

Mr. Kelleher of Southwest Airlines will comment.

USAirways has made my airline the success it has become. Of course they should order thousands of em.....I plan on following on with a huge order myself. My regional jet is made by Boeing by the way...

"No.  We do not have any problem attracting an abundance of pilots with the experience and skill we need to ensure a successful and efficient training sequence.  Experience comes to us.  Experience that we don't have to recruit or pay for!"

"At Soutwest, we realize our competitors recruit and train our future pilots."

So right, it was approximately 26% of our flying we turned over to them to keep them profitable.............such an ungrateful group they are.

I would hardly say it that way: "we turned over to them."

I think AWE Dog said it much better: "stolen from the east."

Not that the westicles actually did the stealing.  They never had that power.  It was the Tempe Brain Trust that essentially "robbed Peter to pay Paul."  And "Paul" was paid handsomely by escaping hundreds of furloughs that should have come their way absent the robbery.

So, if the east gave up 26% of its flying to the west, how many east pilots were furloughed?

Please think before making such absurd statements.
