I'm a friend of Eric's from work and I know him to be a standup guy.
It's something I wish wouldn't have happened but it did, and I'm not going to condemn him for it.
As a West Pilot I know I'm too close to this to be objective.

Sent a beautiful and polite reply for his need to decline. As he expressed it all to me.. He realized , He still can write this piece objectively without having to drag the ugly issues that's connected to it. Just like that time in Oshkosh... ERIC was man enough..to face the very enemy that caused him and many of his colleagues Injustice with pride and HONESTY. Something this two failed miserably UNDER OATH!! All I'm saying... What if YOU had a family member on that flight? What if YOU were the captain?? There aren't movies about plane crashes starring Tom Hanks and directed by Clint Eastwood every day!! It COULD have been YOU! How Would you have felt if they ALL didn't make it?? Our company and our lives would have been very different!! Jeff Abbott That's the whole point Celeste... If he had pushed the throttles up they may not have had to land in the drink in the first place. The lack of integrity in regards to our seniority battle with the other scabs is just icing on the scab cake. He's no hero like he likes to portray. And you're right, it's not about our seniority. He was the one that made it about seniority by testifying in court for the sole purpose of using it against us.
Michael Africa I for one will not pay one penny to see this movie. I will not put any money in that man's pocket. His testimony in court against the America West pilots over a final and binding arbitrated seniority list was disgusting and showed his true self. He has contributed to the loss of thousands of dollars in wages, upgrades, and career stagnation of the America West pilots and the first officers in particular. Sully, I have integrity, and I will never reward you for your assistance in the destruction of the West pilots careers. Eric wrote a fine article and I hope the movie portrays pilots and flight attendants in a positive light. Sully did what he did and everyone survived, but it stops there for me. His antics in court were just like what a scab would do by crossing a picket line.

Sullenberger is a USAFA 73 grad. The west inferiority complex manifests to the max here over his court testimony. Simply speaking, Sullenberger is the antithesis of the west pilot. The ones who founded the airline (Wein scabs) and Chief pilot drug runners. Ansett scab operations. Any one who challenges the west seniority scheme has no integrity.
