757 ETOPS

You wont see Vacuum lavs installed it would be a major modification of the plane and cost way too much money, don't even know if it is available as a retrofit.

See the current lavs have their tanks under each lav.

A vacuum system uses pipes and suction to a holding tank in the rear of the plane.

Two totally different systems.

Elise said in CLT that the 757's will be fixed soon. Its on the hub meeting with the F/A's go watch it.

The flight attendant will make or break your experience. If we are not happy.......you will not be happy.

If we don't have the proper tools to do a job it does effect the customer....BOTTOM LINE
Give me a break....you all are not happy already !!!

I have seen the tiny screen in F class and in Y during a walk down the aisle. Can someone venture in and tell us a little more about that?

While I am definitely not an expert on the subject, IIRC it is from a LONG time ago when AWA wanted to offer games and such onboard. The TVs were monochrome. But then the company that made them, FlightLink, went chapter 11 and shut down. America West, being the ultimate authority on the true value of everything, pulled them all out immediately so the pax wouldn't think they were getting tv has kept them in the plane for over a decade. The only time they have pulled them out(again, IIRC) is when they have to replace a seat. I seem to remember a flight where about 2/3rds of the plane had tvs, while the other 1/3rd had regular seat backs.

I think it is a similar setup to something US tried back in the early 90s. I seem to remember a flight to Florida where my sister and I played games and such on a monochrome tv.

Just to add on...

Deal was announced in December 1993.

🙄 Haven't had the PLEASURE to step onboard and access the Trailer personally- BUT I HEAR THEY ARE A DISASTER! (Been told they should have NEVER been placed on Int'l Service....duh, shall we chalk that up as Colossal Management FU Number......?) Why can't these IDIOTS do Anything Right the F-I-R-S-T Time? Amazing.......

You don't even have to cross the pond to get a taste of the disaster that lies ahead. I have done two PHL-MCO turns on the 75E and let me tell you it blows. Ice stacked in drawers in the back galley with cardboard cases of soda in the meal carts. There is absolutely no room for anything. It's a disaster and the company should be ashamed of themselves for putting the passengers and crew through this to run a new city pair. Well they don't care how they look to the public when it comes to the res system so why should they give a $h!t about the service onboard or the galleys we work out of. 🙄

We have one of our Usairways 757 's converted to ETOPS. Talk about nightmare!! I just worked it PHL-MCO and couldn't imagine going to Europe on it...I thought the ATA's were bad enough. On a standard 75 that aft galley has a row (6?) of compartments filled with beverages. The new configuration has 2 ovens installed with only TWO compartments left for drinks!! And since the other compartments were eliminated, those comaprtments ALSO have cups, napkins, sugars, etc. I also found out (the hard way) that catering is to restock the beverage cart...which they refuse to do.

More transatlantic tales- saw some crews today coming in from Europe. Both Athens and Shannon were sent out the other night hours late (after being re-crewed twice of course) without any Catering for Envoy. Flight Attendants were told to serve COACH meals up front, in the cardboard box. No glassware or plates were even catered, no arrival service. Business Class passengers were served a cardboard box of pasta, coach beverages in plastic cups, and a granola bar for breakfast on a 10 hour flight. To top it off only one movie in english was boarded on the Athens flight. Duty Free was never unlocked. The Shannon B757 had one toilet blocked to begin with, and another overflowed waste onto the floor before it diverted to Harrisburg.
