Hey a quick question, "Does anyone know the procedure now for booking an ID-20"? The 20% discount we receive?
 
It doesn't help the matter that there really has been no definitive communication or updates from the union for the past 4 years.

Clueless is still clueless. But one uneducated "know it all" on the jump seat disseminating
their interpretation of the contract is a dangerous thing.

Time to start making the F/A accountable for THEIR future....first step learn your contract.
Now you need a law degree to sift through all the superfluous "legaease", but if you don't understand it ...... Ask a union rep.

If they don't know - call the MEC and your negotiation team. They work for you. There are enough loopholes in the current contract to fly a 330 through it - see what they say. If THEY don't know or can't explain it to you : VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE.

Bottom line: No matter who is in the union or doing the negotiations - if the F/A aren't involved in the process - they (and US) will get what they deserve.

I agree, you could blame the AFA for not communicating as well as they used to , but the fact is, 99% of the FA's don't care. I mean, if you WANT the info on negotiations, etc, you can make some phone calls/ shoot off some emails, and find out what is going on. MF does respond to all of my emails. But do you honestly think the FA's are going to make that effort?

Do you honestly think a recall would happen with this apathetic membership? I mean, the senior gals love JM because he puts out the "when do I go illegal on Europe?" sheets each summer season! :lol:

Bottom line, aside from a few on here, and the 20 or so that show up at the meetings, nobody cares to get involved. Can't be bothered; gotta worry about my PIT commute being oversold.
 
Very well said. I, for one, am committed to my 2nd job in 2010, which pays so much more and does not require a 20 year electronic leash and work every holiday...

I didn't sign up for this, and with the incompetant people in charge of our airline security, I don't care for the anxiety attacks regarding the foreign nationals who want to kill us.

You are lucky. What do you do as a 2nd job? I am trying to find something that works with my reserve schedule and pays some money.......and I agree about the electronic leash!!!!

Part time sales for a Fortune 500- I make my own schedule. Don't get me wrong, I love US, but being up against the wall financially this past year has almost broken my psyche. Time to get busy, especially being eternally junior here, one never knows when another pink slip might float my way. - PM me if you really care.
 
elections are coming up and it's time for a "FLEET ENEMA"......all the incumbents need to go- even if they are doing nothing wrong. We desperately need NEW BLOOD in the union and It's time for a long overdue regime change. I want someone in the union that represents the line F/A, not their own political or career agenda. Vote the incumbents out regardless.

You have to call the the employee travel line its like option 2. However be warned the the agents in Manila didnt get the memo regarding what a EDI 20 is . i sometimes wait until late a night and call regular rez and speak to some one in PHX, RNO, or INT and can get it done without problems

Wait....I had a male f/a tell me that an arrival beverage has NEVER been done on a redeye. I asked him what airline he worked for. The other lazy, sports illustrated reading, don't know a trash bag, I don't get call bells f/a agreed. Unbelievable. Wait, believable. 🙄

Oh and Glucose I think some don't even know their local union phone number. I bet you'd easily find some f/a's out there that couldn't name more than two people in their local office. It's really quite sad. They don't know anything. I just want to take them and throw them out the 4L door. :lol:
Let me guess where this guy was from? PIT? I am also sure he complained about his commute the entire trip. I am so sick of listening to the bitter burghers complain on how bad their commute is.

Actually he was from the west coast. Oh and ya know when you call someone on the airbus you get a Loud DING/DONG and red lights on the ceiling? Yeah well he had absolutely NO idea what that was. How do some make it through their job? Oh and we were sitting in the back during some pretty bumpy air. Well of course after the bumps calmed down bells starting going off like crazy. The other f/a and I got a few while Mr. West coast never moved his eyes from his paper. I finally told the other guy, "Don't MOVE a muscle on the next bell". Do you know we sat there and Mr. West coast said, "They don't need anything, if it's important they'll ring it again"? HOLY HELL! ! ! Oh he should lose weight too. He said he surfed. I'd give my left man berry to see him in a wet suit. OMG. :lol:

Ok, not only was that funny .......It's true.

I have to say I also usually get a reply from MF when I write to him, but it seems the direction of the union has been a bit myopic on "top 10%" issues and it seems that the interests of the majority are not being addressed at all.

Fact is most everyone (60%) have been here over 20 years on the East, and the one that still have it good, just want to keep it that way. Unfortunately, the Dumb and Dumber business plan shrinking the airline and outsourcing is making that difficult.

I just ran into one of our old MEC's president yesterday in the airport, and asked for his take on the "merger" events of the past few years and AFA. It was interesting to hear what he had to say about this debacle. "My God they are still there?" To me that spoke volumes.

Hell, if Hector is really talking about leaving (and who didn't really see that coming) because of Dumb and Dumber, do you really want to retain the status quo (with a "downward trending metric")?
