Here's a good one for you. I just went on the hub to look at my commute. While there I noticed the 2007 Chairmans award given out this week. Guess what, not one of them was a flight attendant. Not one. Customer service, Mechanics, Supervisors, You name it... Not one F/A. Sad state of affairs when your own company doesn't feel the one group that spends the most time with the passengers needs to get recognized. Way to to Inflight, Way to go PHX, Way to go DP...

Just my opinion...

Please don't give us the well they didnt do it for BWI/SFO/LAX/etc etc. Different time different place. 15 years ago we were not dependent so much on computers for our jobs.

I'm sure the company probably still has a lease and they are paying for the space anyhow, might as well put it to use and show some respect to your employees.

For the record, I am not a PIT commuter.

Just for the record, this company has not advanced computer wise in any way, shape, or form. Fifteen years ago we checked in on catcrew and checked our mail on catcrew. We have had some way of checking loads and listing for flights since I started 21 years ago. You can still use the phone for any needs you have concerning work. The company has computers in it's bases for employees to use. Flica is available at work and is an option to have away from work at the employee's expense. No employee will fall apart without a computer at the airport they commute from. We also have an array of fine men and women who have bid services if you haven't chosen to step into modern times and purchase a computer or better yet, a laptop with WiFi!

In reality, the only different time and place is the date on your calender and the place where you are. The more things change here at the new US, the more they stay the same.

I WILL give you the "they didn't do it for BWI/SFO/LAX because they DIDN'T!! That is a fact! The only good thing is that maybe...just maybe somebody grew a heart since the other bases closed. THAT is a good thing!

As far as the 1000 or so commuting? As TOO many PIT employees use to tell the west coast commuters..."You can always move. I mean, you said when you got this job you would be willing to relocate." If I had a dollar every time I heard THAT one!

What are you rambling on about?? 100% wrong. Go back and look again. There were many flight attendants honored. I hope you are more accurate at checking your PIT flights....

Incidentally, anyone watch the FA Crew news? ONCE AGAIN, a FA stands up and asks if DP is aware that the commute for the PIT girls is hard.... God, that never gets old.... And ONCE AGAIN, DP had to explain that we are not in the business of operating flights for our non revs....

Now that's what many of us are talking about, but if you say anything about the poor PIT employees...I mean former PIT employees, you are labeled a PIT hater spending too much energy.

Mainline Crew Transit Room in PIT
If you're traveling thru PIT anytime soon and have some sit time built into your schedule, stop by the new Mainline Crew Transit Room. You'll find a few amenities here such as a microwave
and 4 PCs, two with CATCREW, one with CATCREW, QIK and FLiCa and one for CBT.

I am sorry but this is just BS! We get recordings on the scheduling update as reserve saying they are not releasing because the PIT commuters can't get to work a few months back. We are abused in CLT and PHL because PIT HP and US flights are running late with working crewmembers. They roll out every possible cushion when at no time was this afforded to anyone else in BWI, LAX, SAN, SFO, SYR, ATL, MIA, ROA or any other base we ever had! A microwave and everything? Oh. If I were still commuting from the West coast I would be furious!
We all had hard choices to make! You think I like living in PHL because it's a beautiful city? NO! I live here for work. I made scarifies and was told to live it and lump it.

WOW !!! That is SWEET ! Is that a micro-wave??? Perhaps PIT is NOT really dead. Perhaps someone might figure out that when oil hits $200 a barrel it is more economical to resurrect PIT and have the aircraft taxi out to the end of the runway and take off in 5-10 minutes than to sit in line in PHL waiting to take-off for an hour and burning precious fuel.......Clear out PHL of all those PIT commuters so I can get my block back. Yea baby !!!

Yes, now is the time to ressurect a loser hub in a city no one lives in or wants to go to, because of short taxi times. Oh, and the pretty terminal.

And are there really people who don't have a laptop with Catcrew etc? How do these people function in 2008?

What happened to the old crew room in PIT, did they give it to Replacement Airways?

Anyone see the latest Hail Mary pass from inflight on summer staffing? The company admits staffing shortages in JUNE and have reopened Vacation Flyback passed the deadline in hopes someone will help a brother out. Why are we so short? Then it says JULY staffing has yet to be determined! They must be in total panic mode, they have not offered flyback in a long time but with the ETB, what the point? This place is run on toothpicks and rubber bands.

That would explain why we're seeing the rubber band man out West in PHX.

I bet Gloria Holtz's cat could do a better job of staffing the airline!

Okay, first off, for those not in the loop. Who is Glora Holtz? I have a feeling I'm missing out a something that is pretty funny and I could use a good laugh.

Secondly, staffing is jacked out here in the west too. We have over 500 reserves on the June Bid. They clearly built to many relief lines so I KNOW that not everyone will be able to build their line to the min. req. of 70 hrs. That will result in yet another cluster f**k for those fa's. Pretty much everyday in May is or was positively staffed and they are autoing lineholders out of their trips like it's going out of style. Reserves are dying for trips just to get the per diem because there is nothing to pick up off the ETB on their days off.

America West always had rookies running the scheduling dept and now the east is getting a taste of how these people run things....not
very efficiently. My guess is they are still using the Ouija board to determine the staffing models.

Once again, welcome to our nightmare. Remember, just cause we're "westies" doesn't mean we like management.

Just wait until everyone goes on vacation in June and July. Have a nice flight. 😉 A company of THIS size having issues of THIS magnitude is laughable. The company doesn't want to negotiate ANYTHING outside of joint negotiations they say? They don't want to treat flight attendants like ADULTS then go screw off. THIS is what you get. People put their blood, sweat and tears into this place for years and you STILL get treated like crap. Boooo hoooo the company will be short. Actually I love it and hope they FINALLY learn a lesson. Maybe they can create another 100 less secondary lines for July. How about 600 on reserve? Hell why not. MORONS! ! ! ! 🙄

I can't wait to see all the N/As on the screen!

BTW, with the pilot debacle going on, isn't that going to delay our contract negotiations because some things in our contract go hand in hand with theirs?
