This, at least, is one issue we've never argued over nic and I commend you for your principles there. You and yours are always welcome on any aircraft I'm operating as well...even though the only time in my entire life I've been offered rude discourtesy and denied a jumpseat was due to a west person, who would nonetheless be afforded respectful treatment as well, should he wish a ride. I can make no overall judgement of your group from personal jumpseat experience...since that event so disgusted me that I lost all thoughts of ever thumbing any rides on west planes. Some levels of infantile behavior, regardless of "sides", are simply too low to sink to...no matter what.....period!

I suppose then that by extension of one's "principles", that if one felt, let's say, that fuel prices were too high, and knowing the corporate tax breaks that oil companies enjoy, one would be entirely justified in just pulling in, filling up the tank and driving away, after having tacitly agreed to pay the price on the pump. Stealing what rightfully belongs to someone else, since one's vaunted "principles" are on the line. Apparently these "principles" are only in play if one thinks that they can get away with it.

You (and all concerned here) have every reasonable right to be both disgusted and offended by the behavior of ANY supposed "professionals" that would inflict such completely UNprofessional crap on another of their class and craft....Period! I'm glad to see a following post that notes your Dad to be ok....but that doesn't begin to excuse such BS behavior from ANYone even pretending to be a professional pilot! The jumpseat's nothing to use like some little toy, as only "children" would, to play sick little games with. I don't care if some jackazz is dressed up as a west or east person....they remain a jackazz for pulling such contemptable BS, and none of us should ever sink to that pathetic level in any cockpit. Heck...slinging toxic BS around like little kids is clearly what chat threads are for, after all 😉
