Kindly take the time to expand a bit on that supposed furlough "protection" if you can....?

Item # 10 of the MOU, it won't cut and paste.

Negotiating Committee Update
BPR Meeting
21 August 2012

Furlough protection covers any pilot who is not on furlough as of the Effective Date

Continues through the six year term of the contract

That sounds good. Ummm....Not to seem intentionally obtuse here, but exactly which contract would that be? One that perhaps doesn't yet even exist? 😉

...and I do this to put money in my pocket.

I could be putting a lot more money in my pocket if I were paid 85% of what a Ucal or DAL pilot makes...and that is what Parker or any future CEO will seek.

Problem is I am tied to a group willing to work for 55% of what those other pilot groups make, and Parker and Co. are perfectly willing to go along with that deal.

I guess you have some options.....You can ride it out or you can leave like me or you can go to work for UCAL or DAL. Look at the bright side....you have two more options than I have!

In contrast to the furlough protection in our present contract?

Min Fleet comes to mind....which some here seem all too eager to give away....

If tempe could currently furlough any more than they already have....Do you honestly doubt that they'd do so, and in much less time than it took to even read this? Contrast the current conditions with those that may well arise and/or be connivingly constructed, should the mou, as it's now written, come into play............?

Tempe: Well....Despite your giving us all the "flexibility" we wanted, and even more than we thought you all gullible enough to do...well...no min fleet...no scope...but hey!...We promise not to furlough any of you guys never, ever!...Honest, we really do!...Trust Us! 😉

"Hey, I have the perfect pilot job for you..."

"Really?"

Yep, 250K per year, medical, lots of vacation, great airplanes and you only work Thursdays."

"You mean EVERY Thursday???"

If the BPR decides not to send this for a vote, then Parker assume USAPA warrants no further negotiation. To send in a NAC with a professional negotiator who signs off on a MOU, then indicate with a NO recommendation that the negotiators were not authorized to negotiate on behalf of the pilots tells him he is wasting his time with amatuers.

I would say the outcome of tomorrows BPR meeting should determine whether or not to hold a representation election to kick USAPA to the curb.

Oh c'mon driver, don't you know that pilots are far more intelligent than highly trained individuals in a particular field. Wasn't it nice back when the Cleary clan was in charge and there was no difference of opinion with the advisors or lawyers. Of course all they did was shop around until they found someone either dumb enough or sleazy enough to tell them exactly what they wanted to hear.

Your full of s..t

I do not trust the company or usapa either....but, if I had to pick between the two, the company would win hands down.

Regarding the MOU....I guess the question is..how much do I trust the APA?

I have NEVER trusted Doug Parker since day 1. I would never trust him now or anytime in the future. I'll take my chances with anyone other than DUI Dougie. He's an abomination in the history of CEO's and can take his place with Enron and the likes.

55%?.?? Fuzzy math. I know what you DIDN'T major in in college......wait! Did you go to college. You want to compare w2's.....bring it on

You are a complete idiot...he does not want to compare w2's with you...if he is like me, he want you to compare your w2 to a SWA, or DAL, or UCAL pilots w2 and notice that narrow body captains at those companies make more than an east Captain and F/O make combined.

No fuzzy math needed, just a stupid bunch of reneging malcontent POS usapa supporting morons who to this day just can't get over the fact that their career as they knew it was over in 2004, and would have been trashed completely had AWA not aquired their company.

Go ahead genius.....do the math. and, oh,,,please show your work.
