I guess we'll have to use this thread for the Prater roadshows. Next week when he comes out west, hope someone will post an update.
What would be the point AAA73? You're going to feel the way you do and we are going to feel the way we do, end of story...
This is long ovedue in the pilot community. Our ALPA brothers and sisters at the wholly owned regionals deserve this:
AWA MEC Hotline:
Our MEC Negotiating Committee members participated in an internal prep session this week for a flow-through (up and back) agreement with US Airways’ wholly-owned regional carriers. Also present at the meeting were representatives of the US Airways, Piedmont and PSA MECs, senior ALPA staff, and ALPA National Officers. A framework proposal was developed that will provide job opportunities for pilots at Piedmont and PSA to fly for US Airways mainline, as well as job opportunities for US Airways mainline pilots at Piedmont and PSA in the event of a furlough. Negotiating dates with management will be announced shortly.
Management expects to have exhausted the furlough list at some point in October and go into hiring mode around November 1, 2007. The MEC has heard estimates of hiring approximately 450 new-hire pilots by the end of 2008.

Ditto. If it ever comes down to combining lists, then send it to arbitration and let a legally trained third party make the call. Living in a constitutional democracy, I like the idea of standing and arguing your case on its merits. Maybe it's just me but I find it so repulsive when I hear of groups who demand a bypass on arguing their case and instead insist on a cram-down, one size fits all way of doing business which coincidentally heavily favors those same folks. That's just so....Bolshevikist.
Well said. I find it impossible to believe the east MEC didn't demand a flow through ten years ago. What they ended up with when the furloughs hit was a complete abortion which the company bypassed anyway, hence the reason the MDA lawsuit is without merit and will most likely be dismissed. The east union has botched and fumbled so many situations, especially of late, it is unfortunate we are even associated with such a collection of bobble heads.
