What's new

Back To The New Uniform Thing.

We would also need something that wears well. Please no cotton that will requires ironing every morning, our rest time is already short enough. Also it would need to be somewhat stain resistant against tomato, and BM mix. Navy is a very suitable color due to it hides stains well and looks good on everyone.

BM??? What the fudge are those pax throwing at you, anyways??? 😱

You guys get way to hung up on the whole "international carrier" thing. So, because we fly 15 flights to Europe we have to sacrifice comfort for international flare? please.

No one is going to pick an airline because of the uniform that a crew member wears. They will fly with us based on price and service.

And to the person that thinks that Donna, Ralph or Calvin are going to design our new uniforms I have a an ocean front lot to sell you in Tempe. lol You will be lukcy to get Martha or Jaclyn to stop desiging for K-mart for 5 minutes to put together something for US. lol

EXACTLY!!

So are you saying that you can't be comfortable and professional? Why couldn't a new uniform be more of a dress pant / skirt and a polo shirt in the summer and a long sleeve button down with company emblem for winter? Professionalism is not always masked by appearance, true professionalism is made by attitude and demeanor.

EXACTLY!!

Oops. Wasn't that my last response? A bit under the weather, so not thinking clearly.

LY, sweetie, I feel I can be professional and be casual. Professionalism is how you present yourself overall and how you treat the customer. You can look great and be a real biatch. Peopla want you to treat them with common courtesy and respect AND to just do their job with pride. When one does THAT, they come across as professional.

I was excited that US might finally find itself a brand to go with somewhere between JetBlue and Continental... simple, consistent, and classy. Instead it just seems like there isn't really going to be a brand at all, just act low cost and they'll come. I just think it's all really misguided.

They are going for a consistent brand. Consistently mediocre.

The award-winning Envoy Class? Nope, sounds too fancy. Let's call it Business Class instead.

The award-winning Attaché magazine? Nope, too high-brow. US Airways Magazine will be much better.

And unlike, say the powerports, decisions like those two don't save a damn penny, they just dumb down the product. In fact, they'll probably cost money as US has to replace Envoy signage, etc, with new Biz Class stuff.

Who wants to take bets on how long it'll take them to take P@ssport off the A330s, for consistency's sake? 🙄

Stick to the dark suits and dresses, get better, less high-maintenance shirts, more colorful scarves and ties. A little 'tweaking' would do wonders for the uniform. Past f/a don'ts:

Cream colored two-piece dress
Mushroom shirt
Cream see-through shirt

Pilots, who gives a crap! LOL

I agree first. However I personally like dressing professionally, but not everyone does. I will wear whatever they put me in. To me, shorts/tennis shoes/socks etc looks like I should be stocking shelves at Wal Mart. If that is the perception they want so be it, they are signing the paycheck. On a personal note, first..I gave you inaccurate info on those dh claims I tried to send you an email through here but I dont think you are getting them. I have the correct info to give you.

Got your email.. Sorry I didn't reply. So whats the worst thing to happen? Reject? Its ok.

How about Target? Seriously, there must be some creative minds to offer thebest of both. I still like the casual Banana Rupublic look. For international, a jacket and toe/scarf with a white shirt could be added.

BTW, can I wear a scarf? I'm feeling very Love Boat, male celeberty, circa 1978.
