It's good to see that Mark doesn't need to commute. Good luck in LGA!!!

Jim,
Could you post the list, please.

I did that last time, and it got yanked by a moderater for giving too much personal information. See the usual TWA websites. I've posted the list in the File Cabinet on both.

GREAT to know the WORST thing you'll have to contend with, is the L.I.E.

Early Xmas present for you and yours......PLUS remember that right around this holiday season, they're predicting at BAD Flu outbreak. 🙄

I may have spoken too soon. The Pending Transfer Request Lists on the website still have names on them for every base where returning f/as have been assigned. Per the contract, the transfer lists must be cleared before any returning furloughee/new hire can be assigned to a particular base--i.e., all active f/as are given a shot at filling the slots in that base first (which would, of course, create openings in their current bases).

The fact that there are still names on the transfer lists means one of two things...

1. The base assignments for the returning f/as are "preliminary" pending the opening of the transfer lists.
2. Everyone on the transfer lists to the affected bases has already been offered transfer to those bases and has either accepted or refused transfer, and no one has bothered to update the lists on the website. After all the information is only important to flight attendants and therefore, by definition, is not critical.

In either case, the only base that would be materially affected is ORD. There are 70 people on the transfer list to ORD. If the list has not yet been opened, and 40 f/as accept a transfer to ORD when it does, then none of the returning f/as would be assigned to ORD. The assumption being that if only 40 returning f/as are offered ORD, only 40 slots are available there.

More will be revealed.

The good news is there will be movement around the system either way. After many people see how many junior people are coming to LGA they will transfer back in again to be off reserve. That's what happened when I got hired. DFW was closed for YEARS and then it magically opened when all the DFW people realized they could commute and be off reserve. The reserve issue makes a big difference for a lot of people. I just figure I'll be on reserve forever international, and at most domestic bases, so it's the price I will have to pay.

RSV is about 13 years or more at LGA... alot of junior F/A's are finally getting out after many years of no movement... 30 or so are going to ORD....they will be replaced with the recalls ,so it's like a swap .. junior for junior...with a few xtras... I dont see rsv at LGA really going down all that much but I could be wrong .... hopefully I am...

I guess I'm being optimistic that the recall is the beginning of more recalls and new hiring in the future. I can't see us staying at this stagnant stage for very much longer.

As I have said many times, I won't live long enough to get off reserve; so, no biggie to me.

The transfer lists have not even been cleared yet... nor the company does not know who will accept or reject the transfer.. I thought they would clear the list and then go from there...

Well, unless attrition eats up all the net gain--as happened with the July returning f/as--there still should be a net gain of about 90 junior f/as at LGA. I don't know how big the reserve list is at LGA, but 90 f/as would be approx. 1.5 months of reserves at SLT. We've been running 55-70 f/as on reserve each month lately. Of course, for us that is almost 20% of the active base on reserve some months.

Also, attrition has been averaging 50/month lately. If that keeps up, there should be another recall right after the first of the year. That would be just to maintain the current schedule, and with the expansion at JFK-I next Spring, there should be further International proffers.

And, standby for Tuesday. Next China award to be made this coming Tuesday. The stars say that this one will probably go to DL, but stranger things have happened. If we get another China slot for next year, then there will be a major move in International.
