In case anyone was wondering about last week's Jim Little strategy meeting and what transpired, I will tell you.

THEY DISCUSSED BETTER COMMUNICATIONS FOR A DAY AND HALF!

That's it...Nothing of substance. NADA...ZIP of anything about the TA.


When they meet in Novemeber, they most likely will discuss how the negotiating committee improved the communication. Maybe they will get back to negotiating a new TA.
This will, thanks to Little, get dragged well into the new year and don't be surprised if this goes to the 3rd year without a contract. And still with no retro.

AMP cannot happen quick enough.
 
You guys crack me up, what happens next is up to the NMB. The no vote produced the expected results. Which are, the M&R group will be put on ice until the APA and APFA work out their agreements with the company. Most everyone got what they wanted which is at least another year of the same agreement, most likely longer. You are correct, there will be no retro, if one group gets retro then all groups would have to get the same. Think about it, 2-3 years of retro for pilots, fa's and every other person out here including non represented, that isn't going to happen without breaking the bank.

Everyone is going to continue dragging their feet and thats that. Now go do your job.

Like all groups have to work 40 hours for the week before they get OT, oh yea, that doesnt apply to M&R. Like all groups go two days at half pay for the first two they call in sick, oh yea that only applies to M&R, like all groups get MRT, oh yea only Title 1 gets that. Had enough? I have.

The items you mention are of little consequence to the bottom line when compared to retro. You think that if M&R got retro the other unions and title groups won't demand it? Gimme some of what your smoking dude.

Everyone will be waiting a long time then Bob, 100% retro is pie in the sky. Unless the winds of corporate wealth change dramatically, which with AA's mgt team "ain't gonna happen." You sir have filled the readers of this board with unrealistic expectations that I predict will lead to a very long wait for yet another less then adequate TA and possibly the ultimate downfall of this airline. Which btw, you are a proponent of. Ridiculous

People think AMP will change things? I'm here to tell you that nothing will change, TUL will get greased, they will vote in any agreement that accomplishes this. It will happen at the expense of those of us on the line. Well done...

Dallas, what your suggesting is to swallow your pride and just go with the flow and let AA/TWU have it's way, and after a year or so, you'll have to start looking for that second job, that's if your not working one already! Because friend, it ain't going to get any better unless you do something about it now! ------ Oh yea! Your right!------- Change won't happen overnight! But take into consideration your options! :unsure: ------------ God! I'm glad I'm out of it!!!

Why is full retro out of the question? This is a straight forward question. The company dragged their collective feet because they knew the arbitrator has no teeth. The company more than likely wanted an 8 to 10 year concessionary contract but felt that would be too long for us to swallow so they went with a 5 year contract knowing they could drag their feet at least anoth 2/3/4 years with no accountability.

It seems by your post that you feel it would hurt the company too much because if "we got ours" everyone would wnat theirs? Well, are we to blame for the company's actions? Are we to blame for the company's greed?

The way I see it is I was FORCED life changing concessions. Theses life changing concessions "sAAved" AA but the company doesn't play fairly so we are to just raise our collective hands over our heads and say "Okay! We give up!". I don't think so. I was FORCED a FIVE year contract by the company NOT SEVEN years. The company needs to pay their share. And the twu negotiated retro pay back to May 5th of 2010 isn't going to cut it. Are you listening twu?
 
Seems to me we've got two choices. The Grape flavored Kool Aid (smooth, reasonable, somethin's better than nothin', it ain't great but I still got a decent paying job. aka TWU). <_< Or the Lemon Lime flavored Kool Aid (acidic, bitting, burn the place down, blow up base maintainence, I want the SW contract. aka Bob Owens). :angry:

Who said anything about blowing up base maintenance? Who said anything about burning the place down? Must be very nice wrapped with the ananymous blanket of fear and unaccountability pulled over your head.

So in your words the company can do what it wants, when it wants and we should be lucky to have our twu kool-aid? I don't drink kool-aid. I fight for what is right. What do you fight for?
