Bush won Ohio and all he needs is Nevada or New Mexico, where he's already ahead. The fat lady is just about to sing. Jacques Chirac and the U.N. won't have a say about whether we can defend ourselves and Vietnam vets, who were branded as war criminals by the flip-flopper himself, can rest easy. Life is sweet!!

I'm curious, what exactly is sweet? That we can attack whoever we want? What is sweet about that?

america got it soooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong reelecting that retard. can't even say nuclear. or even ride a bike. another 4 f-n yrs . with his iraq crap.

Yee-haaa is NOT a foreign policy.

Let's all sing "I'm proud to be a redneck"

I conceded it last nite at 11PM based on trends...I knew it was Ohio, Ohio, Ohio...I'm NOT a liberal Dem, Im a mod Dem, just like my mod republican brethren out there. You dont get it that these elections arent conducted in grade school's mock voting but your diatribe sounds like something I would overhear on a playground.."You lost ah ah"...Friend, John Kerry earned the right to do whatever he wanted with those medals..Presumably, that was the reason we were there fighting and now in Iraq too..."Freedom" you say...But isnt that it? What am I missing here - or dont I get it??

The Swiftboat Vets earned the right to express their opinion about Kerry's actions after the war, a right the Dems wanted to take away. For that matter, Jane Fonda, as an American citizen, had the right to go to North Vietnam and symbolically man an anti-aircraft gun (if it had been a declared war, she would have been guilty of treason). But neither Kerry's actions branding vets war criminals, or Fonda's heinous actions are admirable just because they had the "right" to do them.

Btw, the Democrat partisans' efforts in slashing the tires of 20 vehicles the Republicans were to use to drive their supporters to the polls in Ohio weren't admirable either, nor the poll workers in NC who were Kerry supporters instructing clueless people to vote for Kerry in the voting booths. But you Dems are filled with such hatred towards Bush that it blocks your viewing issues objectively. I'm simply grateful that Kerry's actions after the Vietnam war came back to bite him in the as* BIGTIME. That, my friend, is the textbook definition of poetic justice. 😉

And I supported the Swifts right to do it...What was in contest was some of the stuff like "he caused his own wounds" and ridiculous speculation that the Swifties tried to pass off as fact. I was upset that Kerry didnt respond more forcefully to the Swifties, particularly since the guy they were supporting ducked serviced in Vietnam. It was beyond hypocritical...Somehow I dont think the GOP would have laid off the intense criticism of Clinton in the 1992 campaign if he had gone into the Guard. Do you, friend?

Yeah right. The primary qualification to be President should be the ability to pronounce nuclear or ride a bike. Amazing that a retard can get a Bachelor's degree from Yale and a Master's from Harvard.
🙄

I guess you'd hate it if McCain were elected in '08...he was near the bottom of his graduating class at the Naval Academy. I suppose in your world it's better to have a President who sells pardons and has numerous definitions for simple words like "is" and "alone". 🙄

Since you're so critical of Bush's service in the Guard, are you equally critical of the Guardsmen risking life and limb today in Iraq? Was Bush's big mistake being lucky that not many Guard units were called to active duty in the Vietnam era?

Clinton, in fact, did try to get into the Guard, then, when he saw he had a good lottery number, weaseled his way out of even that commitment. Were you just as critical of that, or is your criticism reserved for Republicans?

Btw, not that it matters, the only thing I respect about Kerry is that he volunteered for military service, regardless of what he did or didn't do during and after that service. There are many liberals, e.g. George McGovern, who are war heroes. Just don't be a total hypocrite by criticizing Bush for his service (and yes, learning to fly an F-102 involves some degree of risk, much more so than smoking pot in England) when you give Clinton a pass for his total lack of service, even his weaseling/lying his way out of any kind of service.

No, I kind of wish McCain would have won in the 2000 primary.

I suppose in your world it's better to have a President who sells pardons and has numerous definitions for simple words like "is" and "alone". 🙄

And in your world it is better to have a president who doesn't understand the subtle difference between "suspected" and "confirmed".

"Was Bush's big mistake being lucky that not many Guard units were called to active duty in the Vietnam era?"..Actually, it was a wise stat-based choice..With the draft going on it was a good deal...I dont excuse Clinton either...He was a dodger as was Bush - but come on folks lets not try to varnish the choice as heroic service compared to Kerry.

I don't agree that America "got it wrong."

I don't believe the President of the United States is "a retard".

Neither do I believe that Senator Kerry is "a retard". I do, however, have serious doubts about the person who wrote that comment and their intellectual level.

I do believe that our election system is flawed, and we need to change it. Get rid of the electoral college (as I said in 2000), and move to a popular vote system. A winner is a winner, and that's the way it should be done. Shouldn't we change it before next election?

God help us all.

Had Kerry been the favorite to win today, those would be my sentiments exactly.

And in your world it is better to have a president who doesn't understand the subtle difference between "suspected" and "confirmed".

No, in OUR world it is better to have a president who is "consistent" and not "ambiguous". It is better to have a president who leads with "integrity", not "fraudulence." It is better to have a president who runs "on" his record, not "away" from it.

There is no question in my mind that John Kerry loves this country. But America has chosen George W. Bush, and withstanding a miraculous overturn of events in Ohio, it seems we are lucky enough to have this president for four more years.

Here's my prognosis for just how "lucky" we all are.

1. Terrorist attack on US soil before the end of 2006. All our efforts against Saddam and his non-threat will be for naught.

2. Reimplementation of the draft by the end of 2006. This would have happened regardless of who was elected.

3. Net increase in job losses over the next 4 years. Keep a close eye on that one, Ohioans...y'all have a lot of manufacturing just waiting to move to a maquiladora on the border.

4. Stock market will improve, what with all the "cost cutting" efforts by the corporations. Since the stock market is pretty much the sole "indicator" of "economic health", we'll all be told how good we've got it.

5. Crackdowns on organized protests - they will be considered to be "suspected terrorists", and with this being a "lame duck" second term, public outcry be damned. Goodbye First Ammendment.

6. More tax breaks. Bigger deficeit. Bankrupt country with 3 years after Bush leaves office.

7. Islamic leader will be elected the Iraqi president. Iraqi civil war. More fun in the desert for us.

8. Iran will increase it's efforts against America. No help from our alienated allies.

9. The supreme court will shift from a conservative court to a neoconservative court, which will blur the lines between the legislative and judicial branches and result in a court that tries to enact laws rather than interpret them.

10. Negotiations with North Korea and their nuclear program will stall.

11. And if we're really lucky - World War III.

I'm heading out this afternoon to find my "don't blame me, I voted for Kerry" bumper sticker. I remember seeing the "don't blame me, I voted for Bush" on the bumpers of cars back in 1992. Saw them all thru the Clinton presidency, a time of economic growth and low unemployment. I hope that my bumper sticker, like those in the 1990's can be proven wrong. It's the only hope I've got.
