The company seemed to signal to AFA that they were coming off their "cost-neutral" contract stance. However, recent statements at a November Charlotte Crew News event by Inflight Services Vice President Sherri Shamblin confused the issue. She stated that the company would continue its cost neutral negotiating posture.

Her performance was ill at best. She wasn't able to clearly answer a damn question. She has NO knowledge of anything east related as far as f/a's go. Then again, how can she take a group serious that sits in that room and complains about the wine and creamer? Important yes, but more important than current events concerning our jobs? HELL NO! ! ! ! When you watch that video its pathetic. Talking to Scott Kirby about our wine selection. Give me a freakin' break. I knew quite a few folks in that room. Sherri even commented on "how quiet the group was". Yeah the room was just FILLED with our "mad as hell and want answers" crowd. 🙄

Those are important issues! Do you really want to be dropping bad wine in your apron? LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO BETTER ON-BOARD AMENITIES!!!!! The F/A's can't be happy that they have to bring or buy food on trips because what Tempe supplies SUCKS!!!! Remember how good the old red wine went with the caramel popcorn. Enough of Cost NUTral...we want good wine for the pax and higher pay for the FA's. That powdered creamer from HP is just downright nasty. I bet they saved a whopping penny. However, in the interest of bettering the wine, I will go along with better wine and forget about the powdered creamer. See, I can be flexible. 😉

In response to that statement, I must make again make you aware the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) and the Master Executive Council have NEVER agreed to the Company position the merged contract would be "cost neutral." In fact, during one of your infrequent visits to the negotiating table you were told the following by me: "the current US Airways East contract will not ratify as is, and this merger will not be subsidized by the Flight Attendants, East or West." While "business as usual" may be the Company goal, you know the Union has never agreed to that concept. The fact you let the questioner believe the Union was in concert with the Company position was a complete misrepresentation of what you know to be our position. Or maybe you don't know, as you also stated during the CLT meeting "you are at the negotiating table two weeks a month". You made that statement to fortify the Company position that the Company is not "dragging its' feet in negotiations". The fact is, you have not been at the negotiating table with any consistency. During the nine months of negotiations the committees have met many times, including the first two weeks of this month without your being present.

If she would stay in Tempe and work VS doing her time consuming horse breeding business during working hours, she might get something done and have some sort of idea what goes on within this company, but being a typical Tempe LCC headquarters management employee, this is unlikely to happen......

It shows. Though I don't always agree with what Mike has to say I have to admit that that letter was to the point. Let her know that she has no authority nor the education on certain matters to spread around misinformation. The whole response to the reserves are suffering comment was the line in the sand for me.

Poor thing needs a wake-up call... lets bring her out on the line for a month... 15 days West and 15 days East... and we'll see how things are after that.

Not taking her out on the line is a great idea. Better than standing around in a room with a fake cart setting it up 100 different ways. Show her how we do it LIVE on both sides and go from there. What a concept. She certainly doesn't seem to have a clue. Ok, lets just make it all crazy and switch our 737 and 757 carts now.

She starts off the Crew News Session saying something like, "Oh my, are you, like, so excited that we get $50 again in our checks? Yah? Isn't that exciting!?!" :blink:

It seemed like she was addressing a group of special needs children. She has no clue that, in earlier sessions, DP moved away from the Cost Neutral stance. She is completely clueless, and she must be embarrassed as she watches herself on theHub. She cannot answer any questions the FA's posed. Frightening. I mean, it's really bad...

Hey travelpro cool your jets man. Maybe you didn't listen or realize that the cart packout was designed by working FA's..full time working FA's from both east and west. They had some guidelines from catering, but overall they made the decisions. After putting those ideas to work, they ran some test markets and then executed. Now other issues have crept up when you bring it into a larger scale and they are addressing those issues.

Ok all packout BS aside, Girlfriend needs to go work a trip on the line BOTH east and west. She has NO clue. If only I were not on reserve and could escape BASE on the day of the session. I'd LOVE to go and ask a few questions. My first question would go something like, "Sherri, why is that you find it so difficult to give a straight answer when asked by someone of the flight attendant group"? Here is one and this is an honest question. If the reserve issues are so big WHY can't they address those in negotiations FIRST"!! Why do they HAVE to take the backseat to smaller though important but smaller items"? Ya know, the responses that I'm thinking I'd hear make me change my mind. WHY BOTHER? Can't complain to someone who doesn't comprehend. No wonder she never shows her face to any of you out west.
