Creationism v Evolution

NM going off the deep end.
The bill says the state "shall not prohibit any teacher, when a controversial scientific topic is being taught in accordance with adopted standards and curricula, from informing students about relevant scientific information regarding either the scientific strengths or scientific weaknesses pertaining to that topic. A teacher who chooses to provide such information shall be protected from reassignment, termination, discipline or other discrimination for doing so."

I hope the House is smart enough to nip this in the bud. Religious dogma has not place in a science class.

Well God created the Heaven and the Earth. Not some scientific theory. Neither has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt.

And we are endowed by our Creator certain inalienable rights. 😱

One of the ideas can theoretically be proven and has substantial proof of it's veracity, the other has no proof and can never be proven. To say that neither has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt is to imply that both theories are of equal stature and have equal (or similar) amounts of proof. That is an obvious falsehood. Creationism has no proof other than it's self and the faith of it's supporters. Not quite the same level of proof that evolution has.

Of course a theory did not create anything. To believe that would be a silly as saying some supernatural being created the universe. The various scientific theories (the same ones that create an aircraft, space ship and your microwave) explain who things work and how they came to be. Just because people back in the dark ages did not know that the earth was round and not the center of the universe did not negate the fact that the earth was round and we are not the center of the universe. The lack of 'proof beyond a shadow of a doubt' does not negate one theory and make the alternative true.

What do words written by some theists a few hundred years ago have to do with the theory of evolution.

Theoretically proven?? That means we kinda think it works this way but have no actual way to prove it.......

No, what it means is there is a mountain of scientific theory that says this is what happened but given current sciences limitations, we have no way of replicating it in a lab and therefor it cannot be 'proven'.

Current scientific knowledge cannot prove it/reproduce it. That does not mean that it is not valid science. Science at the time did not know why the sun disappeared at random times (eclipse), thunder and lighting (atmospheric reactions), that the moon was made of cheese (OK, that one they got right) tides (O'Reilly still does not know why that happens.... poor idiot) .. and the list goes on. Science has figured those things out. There is observational data as well as fossil records to support the theory of evolution. To think of it as wishful thinking or on the same level as creationism (religious dogma) is ignorant.

The same science that works on the theory of evolution has created nearly everything you come into contact with nearly every day.

Hey Kitty, you are giving the atheistic , fanatical liberals, socialistic, communistic, radical nut-jobs the reputation that you all deserve.
Keep up the good work!

Let me guess, you believe that the gods make the sun disappear randomly, the earth is flat, the fossils in Glen Rose are real, the earth is only 6,000 yrs old, all the fossil records were put there by god to fake us out.

Your village is calling. They miss you.

As opposed to your belief that after you die you are nothing except food for maggots?

If there is no proof then would your belief in evolution be just faith. Correct?

faith   /feɪθ/ Show Spelled
[feyth] Show IPA

–noun
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

Welcome to my world............

Not even on a bet.

theory (thē'ə-rē, thîr'ē) Pronunciation Key
A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena. Most theories that are accepted by scientists have been repeatedly tested by experiments and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.

The idea of equating science and religious dogma is laughable. Science constantly examines it's self, tests it's theories, peer review ...etc. Let me know when that happens to religious dogma.
