You don't even what you are talking about. I am talking about real airllines, buddy. Not hokie operations that only hire people from Phoenix. In fact, I venture so far as to say that America West was the only airline that required you to find your own sleeping arrangements. Other airlines REQUIRE you to stay in hotel rooms with roomies. And, US Airways will do that again when they are fully merged because an airline of this size CANNOT just hire people from one city. Look at how the other big boys roll and do things, and get back to me. The world of aviation neither began nor ended with America West.
I think he secretly *wants* a gay male roomie; you know, because he's "ok" with the gays and all.....

well were not talking about other airlines were talking about US/HP and HP didnt just hire from PHX if you wanted the job and lived in LAX you had to provide from your own living arrangements.

Ok new hire crew members provide for their own living arrangements not provided by the company, so that doesnt count. Crash pads dont count either you know the person and chose to all share rent together in a single apt. Those are decisions YOU made to save money out of YOUR own pocket. the company never FORCED you to share a room. those were YOUR decisions.

When I went to new hire f/a training in PIT we absolutely did share a room with another trainee. US Airways paid for it too. They even provided us with some meals. We got breakfast at the hotel every morning and some days they provided us lunch. Most of the time we were on our own for food though. We could purchase food at cafeteria, walk to fast food place, or bring our own lunch. No biggie really. We did not have to provide our own living arrangements like at America Worst nor were we expected to. Even f/as who lived in PIT were able to stay at the hotel. They also provided us space positive tickets to all of the interviews and to and from training.

Its not homophobia. How would you feel if the company forced you to share a room with the opposite sex. How would your spouse or partner feel about it. Not many would approve. Its is just asking for trouble. It sets the person up for ridicule and harrassment from others.

Ask if he likes "Will & Grace". If he says no, he's straight. If he says yes, probably gay. If he starts discussing the characters and plots, absolutely gay.

Hilarious...Hilarious...

Actually I think if you wanted to test for gayness...You'd go for Greg & Dharma...or if you're nonrevving PHX-LAS and you start a conversation with a male FA and he straight out tells you his phone number and to hit him up if you get stranded in Vegas...I was thinking "Oh Brother...Not another one of those happening again 🙂"

Atleast I have a crashpad in LAS now but I'd better bring my lawyer 😉

Conversely doesn't that same tolerant society by it's very libertine nature grant me the right to disassociate with a person who doesn't share my morals, values & ethics as long as I don't advocate violence against him or her? Or is it as I suspect a one way street?
I think the point is that merely sharing a room with Floyd does not mean he is going to be giving hummers on the sofa or that he is going to jump on his roomie because he cannot control his sexual urges. How would he possibly know Floyd is gay? The CK1 cologne? The capris? The PA? The Cher CD's?

Well...Floyd carries around the entire Will & Grace collection...maybe that's the dead giveaway?
