Crew members to share rooms on overnight

freedom, at the wholly owneds the policy is if you want your own room, you must pay for it. Otherwise you are assigned a room mate; and it is random. They sometimes try to pair people with same age and then same territory. Some get lucky and aren't given a room mate. The other interesting thing about training is you are not allowed to have family or bf/gf stay the night with you in your room. I know of many cases where they have fired people over that one.

NevadaHP: this company will change the HP policy of not paying for hotels during training. Once everything is merged, the company will probably offer hotel ONLY for non-residents of phoenix or wherever training is. And almost *every* airline out there BUT HP paid for hotel during training. That was one provision you guys really got shafted on. Even lil ole PSA and Piedmont pay for hotels for training - be it new hire or recurrent.

I agree that I will quit on the spot along with many others if they ever tried it. But, I think the person starting this thread just wanted to stir the pot with senseless crap.
However, freedom your argument doesn't hold muster and your basically saying "you would play the gay card" if in a room sharing situation. When I went though new hire my roommate was straight. We lived together fine for 2 month. Well, I mean who wants to be in a hotel room for 2 weeks with ANYONE period. Shock 😱 No one was killed or raped 🙄
This is just exactly why gays serve with distinction for the UK, France and Germany, but this country chooses in the last 14 years to fire 12,000 members of our armed forces just because they are gay or lesbian. It's an insult to the rest of the 65,000 soldiers that lay their lives down for this country.
and after looking at your posting history freedom, you sure do like to talk about the subject. Can't wait to see how you further put your foot in your mouth.

Seems like it worked

Not going to happen. Our contract clearly states single room hotel accommodations for crew members. And every crew member would go to the mat over it should the company try to change it. Not to mention it would be totally impractical.
Ask any USAirways flight attendant that has been around for 30 years. They will tell you that it did work. Often times they would share rooms with crewmembers that weren't even on their crew.

Holy chit...Floyd is flatlining

Well, yes I do know more than a few f/a's that had that experience. (bunking with another f/a) And that's why They fought hard to have it changed in our contract.

We are not children. We are mature adults and deserve to have our own room like grown-ups after a hard day at work away from our families. The very idea of sharing a room is absurd.

Here’s a scary thought for all of you who might be bunking with someone you know nothing about … REGEISTERED SEX OFFENDER … In this day and age it is wholly inappropriate for any corporation to team up two unwilling strangers and just expect them to “bare it out “ . If it’s a voluntary choice , OK fine , but every individual should have the option of deciding if they want to sleep with some stranger in their room . I don’t pick up hitch hikers when I drive down the road , and I don’t take homeless people in my house for the night either , so why should I be expected to share my bedroom with some one I don’t know when I’m in a completely new city where I know no one and don’t feel safe to begin with ?

Oh moderator………………!

Some of our flight attendants would crush me, I don't think this is a good idea unless they let ME pick the newhires. Who ever posted the pic a few up- you are one sick puppy.

I guess you find it hard to keep on topic.....this one is closed.
