...EASY.....put on "it's raining men" CD. And, see if he dances with his hands in the air.

only stating opinions
you don't even have to look for that...if he doesn't run out of the room, he's gay. be careful though, EVERYONE, loves The Village People.

Hey Nevada HP , I agree with you 100% we should NEVER have to share a room when we are on company business , this is NOT a third world country and I will not be crammed into a room with another worker that I don’t know . Furthermore , it should be known that not ALL of the workers hired by our company are completely sane if you understand me , there is NO WAY IN HELL that I’m going to lay down and close my eyes next to some nut job .Also the gay issue is another problem and if this company thinks it can room men with men and women with women regardless of conflicting sexual orientations then that’s just wack ! Do what you have to in order to get your own room , I mean it , take that #### to the max , tell them you don’t know if the other guy is gay , or if you have to, tell them your gay , tell them you ONLY sleep naked and hence you need your own room , try putting your foot down and insisting you get your own room , trust me , the company WILL back down if your forceful or offensive enough .

I agree that I will quit on the spot along with many others if they ever tried it. But, I think the person starting this thread just wanted to stir the pot with senseless crap.
However, freedom your argument doesn't hold muster and your basically saying "you would play the gay card" if in a room sharing situation. When I went though new hire my roommate was straight. We lived together fine for 2 month. Well, I mean who wants to be in a hotel room for 2 weeks with ANYONE period. Shock 😱 No one was killed or raped 🙄
This is just exactly why gays serve with distinction for the UK, France and Germany, but this country chooses in the last 14 years to fire 12,000 members of our armed forces just because they are gay or lesbian. It's an insult to the rest of the 65,000 soldiers that lay their lives down for this country.
and after looking at your posting history freedom, you sure do like to talk about the subject. Can't wait to see how you further put your foot in your mouth.

This one is getting way off topic, and is venturing into dangerous territory. Keep this on the topic of a rumoured company policy change, and let's not make it about straight vs. gay or anything remotely dealing with that issue--that is NOT for this forum.

No more warnings. This one will be closed quickly if that line of discussion continues.

So...at Training do they assign roommates or you get to pick? I'm just wondering how US Airways/Piedmont does it.

I say close it now. If we are not going to let people show true colors why bother? The whole topic was made to stir the crap so to speak. God forbid we should ever get into the real bias of our culture. too deep for this forum and whats wrong with America. Not a word more out of me. I said my peace on the issue.

I say let it remain open , you’re the one who took it the extra step beach boy , not the rest of us . This isn’t a VS issue , this is an issue of privacy and personal space .

As far as folks below the wing having to SHARE a hotel room , I say NUTS to that .

Why not offer crew members incentives to share rooms or not take the rooms at all. When I went to Mechanic indoc training in PIT, there were at least 5 guys in my group that lived there (In PIT)....they all took the hotel room just to spite the company. Say If a crew member (or anyone on company business etc...) did not take the room they could split the money with the company. I'm sure US gets $29 rooms from most hotels, so even if only 100 crew members a week turned down the room for a year thats $78,000 for the company to add to Doug's bonus and $78,000 for the crew members to make up for their pay cuts. Make's sense to me.

This could be the next big thing in cost savings.

Not going to happen. Our contract clearly states single room hotel accommodations for crew members. And every crew member would go to the mat over it should the company try to change it. Not to mention it would be totally impractical.

Isn't there a program at a few airlines that give incentives for canceled rooms? Lots of our people don't use them. Throw 10$ in their paycheck if they cancel before 12 noon or something. A way to save money there.

The agents contract is very clear single rooms for training. This was not the case before CWA it had to be bargained and company did resist

Crew members already refuse rooms. If for instance you're at a layover where you'd rather stay with family or friends you can call an 800 number and cancel your room. We are already saving the company money. Don't give these jerks any ideas.
