What's new

Damn'em To Hell I'll Let'em Furlough

You chose the layoff, accept personal responsiblity. You could have moved like thousands of other airline employees have done to keep everything you gave up.

Hey boeing 787

How much of a fight did you put up when they took away your duty rigs?
We still have ours, for now.

I'm not falling on the sword for you. Fight your own battles.

Traderjake,

Unfortunately, your attitude is a systemic problem that we 'all' as union members face. This is not a 'new' ideology amongst union members (although you may think it is) but has been around for years. You enjoy the pay and benefits that unionized labor has brought you but you yourself are unwilling to share in the sacrifice as much as you have in the successes.

I may not know you but your willingness to bend over is not a new idea and/or way of life. This current situation is no more (or less) ‘New Age’ than the last (‘New Age’) was and as long as ‘we’ continue to swayed by the powers that be, we will always capitulate in ‘their‘ best interest.

When the ‘powers that be’ convince you that your pay and benefits exceeds your personal worth, then I feel sorry for you and your ‘brethren’ (whoever they may be).

I am confident in my ‘value’ and will not agree to anything less that what I am given today.

If you feel compelled to prostrate yourself, then go ahead; just don’t justify your position on ‘New Market Place’, and ‘We Must Compete’ bullshit.

Been there, done that, back again........

I like it. Shut down the airline, management will walk away with severance packages and US employees will be lucky to pay their cable bills.

I wonder who has the most to lose here. . .

I don't care what airline you work for. This cannot be allowed to happen. Send'em a message and shut'em down. SCREW MANAGEMENT!

Regardless, after the cuts, many will not be able to pay their light bills much less cable.

You are a 'pompas ass' and your post reflects it!!!

Congratulations...in one sentence you've summed up why ALPA has become irrelevent and why the piloting profession as we know it is dead.
[post="183617"][/post]

Pacemaker, you are dead on! in all history of union groups i've never seen such a greedy bunch of self serving individualistic pilot groups in my life.

AA vs.DL UAL vs. AA US vs. DL NWA vs. AA CAL vs. UAL etc etc.
never has alpa been a cohesive group and now it will unravel before your eyes.
I think George W. got his wish so far and WAIT TILL CABOTAGE comes along.
your all toast unfortunately.

Well I think the "hostile Skys" of UAL are calling you back to your board.

The workforce is aging and that's what people forget. In many cases you aren't going to replace the income. Not enough time to move through the ranks i a seniority based system.
[post="183808"][/post]

hostile Skys?

Bob,

Getting raped in 'any' sky is hostile.
Wouldn't you think so?
Looks like you lost it here Bob.
Try another post.

'RESPECTFULLY' 😛

Gee, thanks for the lesson in Union solidarity United people...

*Cough* <personal gain at PAN AM's Expense>*Cough* *Cough*

Darn, seem to have come down with something...

Anyways, I was very impressed with your sincire and unbiased call for us each to reflect *Cough* <Air Wisconsin> *Cough* *Cough*

Geeze, I am sorry. 😉

Now, where was I? Oh yes, thank you for you "unbiased" support for your Airways counterparts, and for the shining example that your own unions have set.

Thanks

You mainline pilots have it coming. You stole my seniority at PSA. How can you defend yourselves when it was your own group that destroyed ALPA's seniority system. You set a prescident by giving super seniority to furloughed U pilots at PSA. What's different about all the mainline 737 pilots getting furloughed out of order and me at five years PSA seniority getting downgraded so a pilot with two years mainline seniority can have my captain's seat? What are you going to tell the judge? You guys already agreed to abandon the seniority system through your J4J agreement. You already lost. I suppose you could strike, but that would leave you bagging groceries at Kroger.

And you wonder why the company has you where they want you.

Guess you never heard of the Solidarity.

Solidarity has nothing to do with it. The unions at UAIR have been outmanuvered at every turn. What is systematic is it isn't even only limited at UAIR. UAL and the rest have done the same thing as well as the union leadership (if that's what you want to call it) all across this country. The business world has adapted to the new realities while the unions have been at status quo since the 60's and 70's.

If every employee would walk out the door, "every" single last one at the same time, then corrective actions would come and fast, or the company would cease. At this point that would be for the benefit of employees who would then "have to " move forward.

Solidarity is dead unfortunately and why your statement is accurate, but if solidarity had its once powerful force, "nationwide", then change for the good of employees would occur.

People/unions are full of apathy and corporate America exploits this fact, that is the new reality, nothing more.

You're right Cav. I agree with you but the reason the solidarity issue is like it is today is because of the leadership at the unions across the nation. They haven't adapted and this will continue until they do.
