Early PIT transfer numbers

I wouldn’t worry about that.

It’s not like we have a bunch of 20-somethings living on futons at Colodny West Apartments in Moon Township that think it would be kewl to try living in PHX.
I hope you will think about living on my futon with totally cool air during the raging summer! Bummer if you don't! 🙁
If not, there is a always the sandcastle..with views of the Tempe pond, headquarters and the airport! 😛

The reality of life is that people are only concerened with what affects them. The people who are going to be displaced or go back on reserve because of these people coming in care about one thing, themselves and are pissed. So don't expect the them to be all warm and fuzzy to these people. That is reality. Not everyone chugs the Kool Aide like you etops.

Its going to be a trip flying with all those pissed off F/A from PIT. They will be mad as hell first because Mecca closed, then for having to catch the first flt to PHL sit all day just to start to work.
All you will hear is poor little me on your 4 day trip. God help us all.
This isn't to say your not welcome, but remember your not the only base that has closed. remember SAN SFO LAX BWI.

Just be kind to your fellow crew members and well all get though this together.

The official PIT displacement award is posted on the HUB under Divisions/inflight services.

What gets me is that the PIT senior mama f/as aren't the only ones who have ever been displaced. Just about everyone here has been displaced at least once. Even worse, you have junior people who have been displaced twice and furloughed once or twice. I don't hear any of them going around b!tching and complaining about it and acting all pissed off all the time. I was on a trip a while back and some PIT people were complaining and the f/a I was flying with said "Now you listen up. I have been displaced twice and fuloughed twice. They will probably be displacing me again. And I am a junior reserve at the bottom of the payscale. So I don't want to hear your complaining anymore." The PIT people finally shut up. The other day when I was commuting home there was a really sweet f/a working the flight and we were talking and I asked her where she was based and she said PHL but she commuted from somewhere else and she was originally based in ORF and then BWI and now PHL. I bet she doesn't go around terrorizing the world because of her displacements. Yes, I feel bad for the PIT people. I really do. I would welcome them to PHL just like anyone else and I would be nice to them as long as they are nice to me. But, let's remember that they aren't the only ones who have been screwed by this company. Geez. Enough is enough.

where do people expect them to go? it's not their fault the base closed. they gotta go somewhere.
they can't fault them for coming to phl . it's where all the good flying is at .if others were in there position they would do the same thing. hey, i am getting bumped too . but it's the way it is . live with it. don't mean to sound harsh but it's reality.

Displacement were postponed until February and THEY CRIED that they cannot live on 73 hour guarantee like the rest of us have been FOR YEARS!!!!!!!

Special arrangements were made for 50 to voluntarily displace themselves in January which is why YOU are losing your block!!!

Etops, you should be p!ssed off too!

Why are they so special that they can't make it and everyone else is expected too!!!!!

I say f$#@k them too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They caused 50 people to lose their blocks EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of the 21 are leaving PIT in January only 12 are coming to PHL. They did the same thing last summer, postponed then allowed those that wanted to go early. What made it acceptable then but now its a mortal sin.

All I have to say it don't expect to be welcomed in PHL with open arms. There are a lot of pissed off people here because all of these people are pushing them down.
Who cares...

They have to get over it...

Anyone who wants to transfer can go anywhere they would like as long as their seniority permits...

thats the nature of this beast of an airline industry...

but I must say some of the PIT people need an attitude adjustment... there are some who are gloating about going to
PHL ... to """"I quoate"....."bmp you all down in PHL"..
So I would say...

to those with attitude..... just ignore them.... till they take the buyout....

I hate to tell you it's the nature of the beast at USAirways. I can't find another airline that alows you to just go where your senority permits. To quote safteystud, changes are coming.

Ok Beach boy got a question for you...

Where do they go if their base closes????

Twidle their thumbs???

they gotta go somewhere....

and its where their seniority lets them....

Like the majority of all the majors do? You go to a base that has vacancies and then await your transfer with priority rights to that base. Like UAL did with MIA. They got a choice of IAD or ORD. Then you take it from there. Here are a few contracts. Feel free to sort through others. This bumping is unique to USAirways but is far from industry standard. What will everyone do when they must assimilate to the real airline world?

I feel that if your base closes or downsizes you go where there are openings or where the time is going. When I was displaced I had to go where there were openings. Whether your base closes or is downsized makes the displacement no joy either way. So your base closes and you get displaced? You NOW get the right bump someone and disrupt their lives and so on and so on? It should NEVER have been negotiated that this be the formula. It's obscene and causes problems throughout the entire system. Seniority aside that is bullying at it's best, plain and simple. That being said I have no ill feelings towards Pittsburgh flight attendants making their grand entrance to Philadelphia. They are ONLY doing what the contract affords them the ability to do. I can't see this finding it's way into the new contract as costly as it is.

One of the few perks that was never neogitated out of our contract. Since we are in the middle of trying to neogiate a new agreement, maybe we should look at giving this up. I'm sure those sitting in PHX would certainly love giving that away.
